Helena stood on the porch of Leena's Bed and breakfast watching the rain. The clinking sound it made on the roof was soothing to her ears. She closed her eyes and breathed in the fresh rain smell before taking a step off the porch. Her bare feet sunk into the grassy mud as she walked through the yard. She turned her head up to the sky and let the rain wash over her face. Her long raven hair hung in wet tendrils down her back. She enjoyed the blissful silence.

"Helena…" A soft giggle came from the porch. "What are you doing?"

Helena knew that laugh anywhere. It made her heart flutter every time she heard it. "Myka! I am just enjoying the rain." She twirled around almost slipping in the mud.

Myka laughed again, this time letting out a snort. She quickly put her hand over her nose and mouth, her cheeks pink with embarrassment. "Sorry!"

Helena smiled at her. "Sorry for what? I find your laugh absolutely adorable!"

Myka lowered her hand. "Really?"

Helena nodded "Of course darling." She reached onto the porch and grabbed Myka's hand, pulling her into the rain.

"Helena!" Myka exclaimed.

Helena rested her hands on Myka's hips as the water drenched through their clothing.

"Now I'm cold." Myka pouted, extending her lower lip in an exaggerated fashion.

Helena pushed Myka's wet curls behind her ear with her fingertips. "Let's see if we can't warm you up…"

Myka's breath hitched in her throat as Helena drew closer. Helena's dark eyes capture hers and she was frozen. "Helena…"

Helena placed a long finger against Myka's lips, quieting her. "Shhh… listen." She removed her finger and replaced it with her lips.

The searing fire burned from their crushing lips, down Myka's throat, into her belly. The chilling rain bothered her no longer.

Helena smiled into their kiss and whispered. "What do you hear?"

"Nothing but the rain."
