"RUN!"
I can hear him yelling at me. Telling me to run. Trying to save me. I can't run though. I've run for too long.
"CAS! RUN!"
He's still yelling. I look at him. Standing. At the end of the street. Staring at me. Wild-eyed fear. But I can't do what he asks. I've run for too long.
"CAS!"
I can't. I've been running for so long I can't remember what it's like to not run. I'm not an angel anymore. I'm not even a demon. I'm just human. A man that is tired. I've run for too long.
"CAS!"
I can hear the pain in his shouts. The fear for me. He wants me to run to him. Wants me to run from the creatures that are only a few metres away. They're getting closer to me. Teeth bared. Fingernails like claws. Like nothing we've ever seen or imagined. But I can't run. I've run for too long.
"COME ON!"
But I can't. I can't run any longer. I'm going to die anyway. Why not now? When I can choose death... I've run for too long.
"CAS PLEASE!"
The monsters are almost upon me when I look back at him. He's crying. Eyes still locked on me. His brother holding him back. I want to run to him. I wish I could. I want to take care of him and keep my promises. But I can't. I've run for too long.
As the monsters close in he yells. One last time. The last thing I hear before they tear into me. Ripping. Slicing. Clawing.
"CASTIEL!"
But it's over.
The running has stopped.
I don't need to run anymore.
