Cross Academy Ball

My pale hand fiddled with my dark brown, wavy hair. My hazel, almost brown, eyes darted back and forth. My other hand crinkled my pale purple dress in anxiety. I saw him walk in. His silver hair, his beautiful eyes, his intimidating look. God he was beautiful. He was wearing his black school uniform and a red rose on the pocket. I quickly adjusted my head band and hesitantly made my way over to him. I heard one girl whisper, "Is she really going to ask him to dance? She's brave, I'll give her that." One of my friends had told me that he likes me as well. Time to see if that is true.

"Z-Zero." I began hesitantly. He turned his normally cold eyes on me and they glowed with welcome. It gave me confidence. "Would you like to dance?"

"Bailey, of course I would." He grabbed my hand, I was sure my face was completely red now, and let me to the dance floor. I wasn't beautiful like the Night Class girls, yet Zero liked me. If only I didn't know his heart would always belong to someone else.

A slow song played and Zero put his hands on my hips. I put my hands around his neck and we slowly rocked to the music. I put my head on his shoulder and we stayed like that for a while. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Yuki finish dancing Kaname. I saw Zero watching them the whole time. I lifted my head from his shoulder and whispered, "Go get her." in his ear. He looked at me with shock.

"Who?" He tried to cover up. Though his blush gave it away.

"Yuki. I know you love her." I chuckled lightly.

"What about you?" He does care from time to time.

"I had fun." I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Now it's your turn." He looked at me with relief in his eyes and he walked over to Yuki. I watched him offer his hand to her to dance and her accept. I slowly walked back over to the benches.

"Um, Bailey..." A boy with brown eyes and short, slightly spiky hair walked up to me. His lightly tan face was as red as a tomato. "Would you like to dance?"

"I would love to Sam." I got up and followed him to the dance floor.
