Dark Moon
(Somewhere in the Fairy Woodlands, Fidget Elfwand and the other fairies are getting ready for Dark Moon)
Fidget: Oh no! The time of Dark Moon is coming!
(Ember, the second in command, strides up to Fidget)
Ember: Fidget, calm yourself. Many Dark Moons have been here before. And we have survived, we will survive this time.
(Fairies around Ember cheer happily, Fidget looks around worried, then gives up trying to prepare for Dark Moon and cheers with them)
Tiny voice in Fidget's head: The Dark Moon is coming. And it will kill you all if you don't prepare!
Fidget: Wait! Everyone!
(Ember looks surprised, then allows her to speak)
Fidget: The Dark Moon that is coming is going to be horrible.
Fairy in background: How?
Fidget: I saw it myself! In Spider's vision!
(Gasps come from the fairies around her, Ember calms everyone then turns to Fidget)
Ember: Fidget! Spider has said nothing about this! Do you expect me to believe you?
Fidget: (crouches down) No, but I expect you to believe in Spider.
(Ember looks thoughtful for a moment than shushes Fidget)
(Fidget wanders around camp, preparing for Dark Moon as planned)
(Meanwhile, in the sunflower patch, two girls are getting ready to go to the woodlands)
Calista: Juliana! Wait! The woods are dangerous! Especially during the lunar eclipse!
Juliana: Don't worry! Everything's going to be fine! The eclipse isn't for another three days!
Calista: Ok, but I still have to practice for the play.
Juliana: No! You are not going to be in that play! I should have gotten the lead, but I didn't! Why did you get it?
Calista: If I do remember, the director said you couldn't sing and your voice was horrible.
(Juliana shouts at Calista for a minute, then starts to sob)
Calista: What's wrong?
Juliana: I- he was right! I can't sing! (Juliana glares at Calista) But neither can you!
Calista: If I do remember, the director said my voice was as smooth as a calm river and that I had the lead, while your voice sounded like a broken record.
(Juliana grumbles to herself while walking away)
(Back in the woodlands with Fidget and her crew)
Fidget: Okay! Ember! We need help with the Shineflower pit!
Ember: Help yourself!
(Fidget shakes her head and turns away, continuing to water the flowers)
Fidget: Lily! Please, help me!
(Lily, the water fairy, rushes over to Fidget)
Lily: Reporting for duty! Now what do I need to do?
Fidget: Go get Twig, and tell him to come pick the leaves off this shineflower. We will need shelter in the time of the dark moon.
( Twig comes hobbling down to the shineflower pit)
(twig speaks in tired voice)
Twig: Here and ready for business.
Fidget: Twig you need to make sure you are ready to work especially when it is the time of the dark moon.
Twig: I understand, Fidget.
( Meanwhile Juliana and Calista are fighting in the sunflower patch three feet away for the woodland)
