I don't often grow to hate someone, not even when it comes to Jade. Strongly dislike, yes. Hate, no. But when it comes to Aqualad, I finds myself hating him for something he doesn't even know.

I am the new member,

Speedy's replacement.

Kid Flash hates me.

Miss Martin tries to be my friend.

Robin and Superboy don't really care.

Speedy is suspicious of me.

But Aqualad…

I hate him with all my heart and soul.

He welcomed me with open arms.

He didn't judge me.

He let me have my space.

He is always the first to check up on me.

He comes to me first when he needs to talk.

Most would like people like him,

but I have faced people who acted like that

to hide their greedy, selfish true selves.

I can tell the difference.

And his is true.

I hate it.

I hate how he can be both a leader and friend.

I hate his calm blue eyes that I could get lost in.

I hate his unwavering voice.

I hate how well built his body is,

from his powerful arms to his strong legs to his ripped chest.

I hate how his tattoos glow when he unleashes his power.

I hate how he still longs for the Tula girl he told me about,

even though she chose his friend Garth over him.

I hate how he softly cried on my shoulder as he recalls how she broke it to him,

showing me a side of him that no one has seen.

Not even Aquaman.

I hate him because he will never see me longing for me.

I hate him because he made me fall in love with him.

I hate him so badly.

But I love him just as badly also.
