Katelyn lay on her bed, her light blue hair sprawled on the covers. Jeffory had been talking about a girl named Amanda lately, so they hadn't talked much. Her phone read 6:49 PM; maybe a shower could freshen up herself, and her mood.

After stripping and entering the shower. Katelyn let the warm water soothe her skin. The water seemed to make her heart pound harder and harder. It hurt, she wanted Jeffory to be happy but she felt her heart ache thinking about … Amanda.

Katelyn stepped out of the bathroom and sighed, her long hair drooped over her face. She never felt so hopeless, this wasn't like her. Maybe meditating would help, yeah, maybe meditating. She slammed her door unintentionally before sitting on her desk chair and closed her desk.

Klack Klack Klack, her door opened slightly. "Katelyn?" she heard Aphmaus worriedly ask.

"Yes, APHMAU?" Katelyn attempted to say normally through gritted teeth.

"Are you ok?" She asked, now sitting on Katelyn's bed.

"YES." She continued, attempting to shoo Aphmau out.

"Katelyn, something's wrong and I know it, you've been acting weird ever since you got that call a few days ago!"

Katelyn's mouth suddenly felt sour, her own shadow seemed to be consuming her soul. Aphmau flinched, realizing she stepped over the line.

"I'll give you some time," she said as quickly stood up.

"Wait." Katelyn grabbed her arm accidentally.

"Yes?"

"Jeffory…" Aphmau sat back down on Katelyns bed, listening intently.

"What about Jeffory?"

"He started hanging out with some girl."

"Are you feeling ok about it?"

"I don't know… My heart feels weird when I think about it."

"Well them, Katelyn my friend, you have heartache!" Aphmau exclaimed happily.

"OH MY IRENE, APHMAU IHAVECANCER?IRENEHELPMEIDID

NTKNOWGAWWWWWWWWWD!" Katelyn sputtered.

"Wut." Aphmau said blankly, staring at Katelyn.

"What isn't heartache like a sickness?" Aphmau burst out laughing; now also sputtering nonsense as Katelyn watched in blind confusion.

"You like him!" Aphmau nearly screamed.

"Huh?"

"Do you like Jeffory?"

"I mean as a friend… yes…"

"Katelyn let your feelings out, I know you bottle everything inside, you can trust me,"

"Yes okay, maybe I do like him."

"And?"

"I want him to like me too," Aphmau was practically exploding inside.

After calming her down and talking about it, the two girls decided to never tell anyone.

1:34 AM

A ringing sound arose from Katelyns phone. Her hand wandered through her desk until she found the vibrating phone.

"Hello?" Katelyn asked meekly, still wiping sleep from her eyes.

"Katelyn?" She heard the friendly british voice now scared and sniffing.

"Jeffory?" She asked quickly before panic entered her brain.

"Yeah, Amanda… dumped me," Katelyn felt no shred of relief wash through her.

"You want me to come over?" Katelyn asked worriedly.

"Sure… I guess"

"Is Abby ok?"

"Yeah, she's in bed."

Katelyn drove her car through the silent night to Jefforys apartment. After Jeffory let her in, they sat in the living room awkwardly.

"Did she give you a reason?" Katelyn asked, breaking the ice.

"No," He answered, slouching in the couch.

"Irene, I'm going to go kill her with my bare hands,"

"Thanks," Jeffory smiled. Another silence.

"Katelyn?" Jeffory asked.

"Mmm?"

"I love you." Katelyn flinched, her whole body felt burning.

"I love you too," They drew in for a kiss before a light shone on them.

"MOMMY IS KISSY DADDA!" Abby yelled happily.

" Oh my Irene," Katelyn muttered as Jeffory turned away and carried the girl to bed.

"Sorry about that," He said awkwardly.

They shared a long tender kiss before the blue haired maiden sunk back into the shadows, only to be seen tomorrow once again.
