Chapter one
As I walked home from the most messed up party I had ever gone to, it was darker than usual. Walking home at 1:00 a.m. was probably not the smartest thing I've done in my life, but I would just have to forget about how dark and stupid it was. Now I should probably tell you why the party was just terrible, first the people there were all drunk and couldn't even walk straight. Second there was like one person I knew there so I'm not even sure why I ended up going. Just another thing I should have thought about before I did it. By the time I left the party half the people that were there had already passed out or ran off somewhere, but I didn't worry about that too much well I didn't really have to because I wasn't necessarily into that kind of stuff.
When I got back to the place I called home I hoped my roommate, Chrissie wasn't home because she would have been pissed at me for waking her up. I can only imagine one what she would say. When I stepped through the cracked, rotting door I could tell she wasn't home because her favorite purple jacket was gone, along with her high heels. Chrissie was almost the opposite of me, she was the stay out late and party type. Surprisingly we got along great. We not only lived together but we went to school together. Chrissie and I lived together because both of our parents had left us here at the foster home "aka" our house. I had only seen my mom and dad in pictures. Now I know it seems great because no parents no rules…. but trust me it's not, I get lonely a lot when Chrissie is here. Even when she is here she either has a friend over or is too busy to talk, but sometimes we have some pretty deep conversations.
After a while of sitting in my bed zoning out about almost nothing I heard the door open. I waited a few minutes to see if Chrissie would come trudging up the stairs, but she didn't I almost heard nothing as if she never really came back yet. So I got out of bed and slipped on my blue bunny slippers and quietly walked downstairs. When I got downstairs the door was wide open but I didn't see Chrissie's purple jacket. I closed the door and walked past the living room into the kitchen. No Chrissie. I began to worry because I didn't see her or anyone else that had come in until I heard the door open again. Thinking it was just the wind I turned around, but this time it was empty. There in the doorway clear as a bell I saw her…. my mother.
