Title: I'm With You

Author: CosmicalMadison

Summary: Ginny is lost in Hogsmeade and needs someone to show her the way home. Slight Ginny/Draco. Songfic.

Rating: T, for language in the lyrics

Pairing: Slight Ginny/Draco

Author's Note: I know I'm supposed to be working on The Next Generation, but this little plot bunny hopped by this morning and was too cute to ignore. Don't worry, Chapter 3 will still get done. Also, I'm no usually a fan of their pairing, so sorry if it's not very good. The lyrics are "I'm With You" by Avril Lavigne.

I'm standing on the bridge

I'm waiting in the dark

I thought that you'd be here by now

There's nothing but the rain

No footsteps on the ground

I'm listening but there's no sound

Ginny Weasley stood on a completely empty, totally foreign street in Hogsmeade. She had been on her way to meet Ron and his friends at the Hog's Head so they could walk back to school together when she had apparently taken a wrong turn. None of the shops on this street looked familiar, she was soaked to the bone with rain, and it was starting to get dark.

Isn't anyone trying to find me?

Won't somebody come take me home?

Suddenly, a handsome blonde boy came around a corner. He looked vaguely familiar to her, but Ginny couldn't remember his name. "Excuse me," she called to him.

The boy looked slightly annoyed, but when he turned to look at her, his face softened. "Yes?"

Ginny smiled with relief, glad that he was friendly, as she walked over to him. "I'm afraid I'm lost," she said, blushing. "I was just wondering if you could tell me how to get back to Hogwarts."

It's a damn cold night

Trying to figure out this life

Won't you take me by the hand

Take me somewhere new

I don't know who you are

But I, I'm with you

The boy smiled at her. "Sure. I was just headed that way myself. We can walk together. It's this way." He took her hand and began to walk.

"What's your name?" Ginny asked.

"It's Draco."

I'm looking for a place

I'm searching for a face

Is anybody here I know?

'Cause nothing's going right

And everything's a mess

And no one likes to be alone

Ginny had to work hard to keep from gasping. No wonder he had seemed familiar! This was the Slytherin boy Ron had told her about so many times, the one that was so cruel to he and Harry and Hermione. She didn't understand. How could that be? He was being so nice to her – she kind of liked him.

Why is everything so confusing?

Maybe I'm just out of my mind

It only took them a few minutes to reach the castle. When they stopped before the front doors, Ginny, without thinking, rose onto her tiptoes and kissed Draco on the cheek. Eyes wide with shock, the boy raised a trembled hand to touch the spot.

Blushing madly, Ginny said, "Thank you, Draco," and turned and ran into the building. Draco stared after her, not knowing what to think or feel.

It's a damn cold night

Trying to figure out this life

Take me by the hand

Take me somewhere new

I don't know who you are

But I, I'm with you
