Those Eyes
She'd seen those eyes before. Before, they resembled the color of the golden sun, now they were red as blood.

Kagome stood in the line before the two people ahead of her.

That was when she saw him.

"Grandpa, can I have all the flavors?"

At the pitch and tone of the person's voice, Kagome had guessed it right—it was a little boy. She turned her head slightly just to watch if the little boy would play his cards right and get all of the flavors. When she did, her guess of the flavors the little boy wanted were not candy, but ramen.

"No Rinne, just one," His grandfather told him.

As inquisitive a child as ever he asked, "But why?"

He patted his grandson's head and chuckled. "One day Rinne, you'll learn the value of money."

Rinne nodded, knowing he couldn't get pass his grandfather and stared at the stack of ramen intently, thinking about his decision heavily. Normally, Kagome would just avert her attention back forward and keep it that way, but something caught her attention.

She'd seen those eyes before. Before, they resembled the color of the golden sun, now they were red as blood. The little boy's eye color was as unique as his name, a combination Kagome would have never expected to witness ever again. And it had given her a wave of relief. At least, it wouldn't be the last time she would ever see those eyes again. Even if they were in a different color.

Kagome walked forward as the cashier rung her up.

Hopefully, it wouldn't be the last time she'd look into those eyes again. And in that time, she hoped it would be of the one she had longed to see in three years.

A/N: The first thing I noticed about Rinne was that his eyes resembled Inuyasha's eyes greatly. I know the series are both from Rumiko Takahasi, explaining the similarity, but this is just a nice thought of Kagome seeing little Rinne. And the reason why he's a little kid is because Kyoukai no Rinne starts and takes place in 2009, Inuyasha ended (in the time frame of Kagome's era at least) at maybe 2000. (I checked that she was born in 1982, so...) Rinne is about 5 or so years old here.
