Weaving his way through the sea of police officers and forensics team, Voight walked towards Dawson who was crouched down beside one of their latest homicide victims.
"What do we got?" Voight asked as he walked towards Dawson.
"It´s Sarah." Dawson said as he turned towards Voight with sadness written all over his face.
"What?" Voight asked not believing what he was hearing as he stared down at the woman with a heavy sigh filled with sadness. How do you even know it is her, you can´t even see her face." Voight said as he pointed his hand down at what was left of her face.
"We found this." Dawson said as he held up an evidence bag for Voight to see." Sarah´s service weapon and badge were found on the body" Dawson said as he quickly looked towards the front door of the apartment and he hears Adam and Kevin voices.
"Voight." Dawson said with a nodded his head towards the door.
"Atwater, you keep him back!" Voight yelled as he turned his head as he pointed his finger towards Adam and he see a confused Atwater and Ruzek looking at him.
"Boss?" Atwater asked as he looked towards the body and that Dawson quickly cover up the woman face with the sheet before he got to his feet."What is going on?"
"Adam. I..I don´t know what to say." Voight said as he turned his head towards Adam and he was trying to find the right words to say cause how was he going to tell Adam that it was Sarah laying dead on the floor.
"Boss?" Adam asked with a scared look on his face as he looked between Voight and the body on the floor and he knows something is very wrong when Dawson blocked is line of sight to the body.
"It´s Sar.." Was all Voight got out as Adam pushed Kevin out of his way to get to her, but four set of hands was was holding him back.
"Get off me!" Adam yelled as he tried to pulled Kevin and jay off him." I said get off me!" Adam yelled he looked down at the body on the floor.
"Adam, Adam! Easy easy." Kevin said as he tried to clam Adam down as he struggled to free himself."
"I want to see her, Voight, please, just.. just let me see her." Adam begged as the fight left his body.
"No, Adam." Voight said with a sad look on his face." You don´t want to remember Sarah this way." Voight said.
Adam didn´t like the way Voight was looking at him as he said doses words. Adam pulled his elbow back and hit Kevin in the face, making him lose the hold he had on him and Adam turned his body to the side as he pushed Jay away from him as he turned and walked towards the body cause he need to see it for himself that it was really her and he had almost reached the body when a set of hands gripped him by the upper arm and held him at bay.
"I need to see her." Adam said as he turned his head over his shoulder so he could look at Voight.
"Now is not the right time." Voight shook his head before he pulled Adam out of the hotel room and into the hallway.
"Damn it, voight! If it´s Sarah i have a right to see her." Adam yelled as he tried to keep the tears from leaving his eyes.
"You don´t want to see her this way." Voight said as he tried to make Adam understand how bad it was.
"I don´t care." Adam yelled as he tried to walk back inside the hotel room, but Voight pushed him up against the wall." I can´t imagine how hard this is for you but you have to keep it together." Voight said as he placed a hand on Adam´s cheek as he made Adam look him in the eyes.
"You have been a cop long enough to understand that if i let you inside the apartment in the stat you are in, we run the risk that you will contaminate any evidence left behind by the suspect and we need this one to be by the books. Let the team gather what they can in there so we can nail the bastard that did this."
"And what am i supposed to do in the mean-time, huh!?" Adam yelled as he pointed his hand towards the hotel room.
Before Voight could answer Adam, a man in a suit walked towards them and before Voight could grab a hold of Adam´s arm, Adam lunged at the man.
"You sun of a bitch!" Adam yelled as he swung his fist at the man´s face, making the man stumble backwards.
"Adam!"
"She wanted out and you just had to pull her back in after she begged you to let it go!" Adam yelled as he grabbed the man by the front of his suit jacked and pushed him up against the wall.
"She is dead because of you." Adam yelled as he pushed the man´s head hard up against the wall before he placed his elbow against the man´s throat." You killed her! You killed her jack."
"Adam, enough!" Voight yelled as he pushed Adam way from Jack.
"She asked to be brought back in on this case!" Jack said as he placed his hand against his throat." She didn´t follow orders." Jack yelled back at Adam.
"You sun of a.." Adam yelled as he came at the man again but this time he was hold back by most of his team." I do know what the case did to her so you should have told her no!" Adam yelled as tears fall down his cheeks.
"This is Sarah we are talking about." Jack yelled back at Adam." You tell her no and she do it anyways."
"You killed her Jack! Her dead is on your hands!" Adam yelled as he pointed an angry finger at the man who Adam knew Sarah loved like a brother.
"I might have helped her, but you didn´t stop her so who is really to blame?" Jack said as he was being hold back by his own people.
"If i ever see your face again i will kill you!" Adam yelled as he was being pulled down the other side of the hallway as he kept on yelling out how he was going to kill him.
"The other second victim?" Jack asked as he turned his head towards Voight who were watching Atwater and Dawson pulling Adam down the hallway as he kept on fighting against them.
"You kidding right now?" Voight asked as he turned his head towards the man he knew had once been Sarah´s partner when she had worked for Interpol.
"You partner is laying dead inside that room!" Voight yelled as he pointed his finger towards the hotel room." And you want to know about the second victim?" He asked with a look of disbelieve written all over his face.
"How about this officer." Jack said with a angry look on his face." This is our case now so i would like for you to leave my crime scene."
Voight laughed at him for a bout a second before he walked over and got into his face." First of all it is sergeant." Voight said as he pushed Jack backwards and second she is one of us so go to hell." Voight said.
"You know i only have to make a phone call." Jack said as he reached his hand inside the pocked of hid suit jacked and pulled out his cell phone.
"Do it." Voight said with a smile on his face." Until then." Officer, please escort these fine men off my crime scene." Voight said as he turned and walked back inside the room.
"What do we do now?" The younger man by Jack´ side asked as the walked down the hallway and out of the hotel building.
"We are going to find out what the hell went wrong here." Jack said as he dialed a number before he placed his cell phone against his ear and waited for the person on the other end to answer.
"You reached Eva i am not here at the moment, by leave a massage and i will get back to you, bye." The woman´s voice said.
"If you get this you call me back the second you hear this." Jack said as he placed his phone back inside the pocked before he opened the car door.
Jack turned his head to see Adam was still trying to pushed his team off him as he tried to get back inside the apartment." Damn it Sarah. What did you do?" Jack said with a shake of his head before he got inside the car and drove away from the crime scene.
Sometime later back at the 21 distract. Voight walked towards the blackboard and with a heavy heart he placed Sarah´s picture on it." Alright." Voight said as he turned back around so he was facing his team.
"We have two victims." Voight started to say as he turned to look at the photos and what ever he was going to say died on his lips as he shook his head.
"Boss?" Dawson said with a heavy sigh.
"What the hell was she thinking?" Voight said as he turned back to the team." Did any of you know what she was up too? cause if you do i want to know right now!" He asked as he looked around the room.
"I think Adam is the only person who would know that." Kevin said.
"No!" Voight said as he turned to Kevin." I don´t want Adam near this one."
"Boss this is Sarah we are talking about.."
"I know!" Voight yelled as he looked at each of the people in the room." Adam can´t touch this cause there is going to be heat on it and i want it to be done by the book, not just for Sarah´s sake but for Adam´s as well. Do you hear me?"
"Yeah, boss" The all said.
"Were is Kim?"
"She is with Adam." Dawson said.
"Okay." Voight said as he turned to Atwater." How did it go with potential witnesses?"
Kevin shook his head." So far one seems to have seen or hear anything."
"Someone must have heard something!"
"The body´s was found by the clean lady when she saw the door ajar shortly before she started her rounds." Atwater said.
"Upton, Halstead i want you to track down anyone who may have check out before we arrived."
"Got it boss." Jay said as he nodded his head towards Hailey and the walked out walked down the stairs.
"Dawson i want you to find out if any of the prints from the hotel room are ready. See if they match anyone with a record. I will be at Adam´s place if any one needs me."
"Got it boss." Dawson said as he to turned and walked down the stairs, leaving Voight alone in the room.
Voight turned around and looked up at the photo of Sarah." What the hell were you thinking kiddo?" Voight wondered with a heavy heart cause he knew that things were never going to be the same at least not for Adam.
