Now, make sure you read Magic Mishaps before this one, otherwise things won't make much sense to you. This takes place about a week afterwards, so I hope you enjoy.
P.S. This story will be a secondary story, so Knights, Ninja and Royalty will come first, and be updated first. Just an FYI.
Jay, Cole, Nya and Zane sat on the deck of the Bounty, watching Sensei Wu give Kai and Lloyd a lesson. Zane meditated beside Cole, who watched the lesson intently. Jay and Nya chattered quietly with each other. Kai and Lloyd went through several patterns, calm and slowly to cool down from the other exercises. It had been about a week since the incident with all the magic and Kai and Lloyd were slowly beginning to adjust to feeling each other's pain.
"Alright, that will be enough for today," Sensei dismissed them.
Kai and Lloyd relaxed themselves, watching as Sensei turned to walk inside. They walked over to join the rest of the team by the stairs where they sat. Nya looked up at them, Jay turning with her. Cole, already standing, handed the two water bottles.
"That got exhausting fast," Kai sighed, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead.
"Look like it," Cole replied. "You two were sparring for almost an hour."
"You two should get some rest," Nya said.
"We have the other session after lunch," Lloyd moaned.
"What session?" Jay asked.
"Yeah, you two have disappear after lunch for the past week," Cole commented. "Where are you going?"
"Just….." Kai glanced to Lloyd.
"Oh training," Lloyd said quickly.
Then Lloyd quickly faked a yawn.
"Oh, well, I think I'm going to go inside now," Lloyd said.
"I'll come too," Kai said, just as quickly.
Both boys dashed inside quickly. They walked at a slower pace inside until they arrive at their shared room. Kai closed the door behind them as Lloyd sank onto his bed.
"That was close," Lloyd sighed in relief.
Kai nodded.
"I'll do feel bad about not telling them, though," Kai said. "Especially my sister."
"I would rather they not know," Lloyd told him. "Just, maybe not until we know how everything will work out for us."
"Alright, fine," Kai sighed. "It's just getting harder and harder to keep it a secret."
"I can see that," Lloyd sighed. "Truth be told, after Morro possession, Sensei and I did some private training to help me recover. His possession left several dark thoughts in my mind, so it took a while to clear them."
"Whoa," Kai breathed. "That's pretty big."
"Yeah," Lloyd sighed. "And rather hard to keep secret."
"Yeah. Well, we just need some rest and relaxation time before we go," Kai changed the subject.
"Want to go watch a movie after?" Lloyd asked.
"Deal," Kai grinned.
Jay, Cole, Zane and Nya watched as Kai and Lloyd dashed off. Nya frowned as Zane got up from his meditation.
"I sense that they are hiding something," Zane said.
"I know something is up," Nya said.
"How do you know?" Jay asked.
"Kai has been acting different since the accident," Nya turned to him.
"Now that you mention it, I've noticed that too," Cole added.
"Lloyd seems fine, though," Jay added.
"You three may dicuss this, I am going to start lunch," Zane said.
"Alright," Jay replied.
Zane walked below deck on the Bounty before the three turned to each other.
"What do you think they're doing?" Cole asked.
"I don't know," Jay replied.
"It could be anything, but I think it has something to do with the incident," Nya said.
"Maybe it's nothing and they just have another training session," Cole said.
"Then they would have told us and not be hiding anything," Jay replied.
"Maybe one of us should follow them, just to see what's up," Nya said.
"You can because I honestly don't think it's a big deal," Cole shrugged. "Everyone can have secrets. You kept the Samurai X Cave Cave secret for the longest time."
"I am just worried, that's all," Nya insisted.
"If you say so," Cole replied before disappearing below deck.
Jay turned to Nya, seeing her staring at the ground. He placed a hand on her shoulder, causing her to jump.
"I am with you all the way," Jay told her smiling.
"Thanks, Jay," Nya smiled and hugged her.
Nya smiled before they walked inside. Jay slipped into the gaming room to play with Cole while Nya walked to her room. She stopped outside her brothers shared room, hearing his and Lloyd's voices inside.
"Can you just watch the door and let me know if someone comes in?" Kai asked.
Nya slipped into her room across the hall, closing her door and listening.
Lloyd closed their door, turning back to Kai.
"Alright," Lloyd said. "But can't it wait until the session later?"
"You have no idea how hard and uncomfortable it is to hide these," Kai moaned.
Kai shook his head and two cat ears appeared in his hair. The brown and tan fur coated the ears as a tail appeared behind him.
"I still can't believe that happened," Lloyd shook his head, falling onto his bed.
"I know," Kai sighed. "One day, I wake up and you and I share pain, the next I have freaking ears and a tail."
Kai sighed, sitting beside Lloyd.
"I honestly don't know why you don't want me to tell anyone else," Kai told him.
"Then they will start to worry about me," Lloyd explained. "I know Mr. Kentler said it won't be a big deal, it is a side effect of it for you and I have nothing to worry about, but I know the others will still worry."
Kai nodded looking away. He shifted and his tail came up and rubbed against Lloyd. Lloyd giggled and grabbed it.
"Hey!" Kai cried, grinning.
"You hit me with it," Lloyd retorted playfully.
Kai pulled it free and wrapped it around his waist.
"That was an accident," Kai told him.
Lloyd smiled and rolled his eyes. He grabbed Kai's tail and stroked it.
"Hey, that tickles," Kai laughed.
Lloyd grinned and stroked it again. Shivers went up Kai's spine. He giggled and twitched.
"Would you cut it out?" Kai cried out.
"But it is so soft," Lloyd pouted playfully.
Lloyd rubbed Kai's tail against his face and Kai chuckled at the tickling sensation from it.
"Lloyd! Kai!" Zane called. "Lunch is ready!"
Lloyd walked over to the door, turning to watch Kai hiding his ears in his hair, carefully. He opened it to see Jay about to knock.
"Oh, you coming?" Jay asked.
Lloyd nodded. Kai joined, his tail was hidden and he walked towards Lloyd before they left for lunch.
