This is old and probably won't be continued. I have a few more chapters written, so I guess I'll post those and then put this up for adoption or something.
"Melly, you're an absolute genius!" Aden shouted, scooping a spoonful of eggs straight from Melody's pan.
'Hurry!'
It was a man. She could tell by the voice.
"Best cooking ever!" Antonio added, grabbing a spoon and picking something out of the pan too.
'Please! He is only a child!'
This one was also a man, but with a thick accent.
"Will you two cut it out?" Melody said, trying to nudge them both away from the stove with her hips.
'Kida, please protect my daughter.'
This time it was a woman. She sounded like she was crying.
"Only if you say please." Aden said, throwing his arm over her shoulder and leaning his weight against her.
'It's not safe for him anymore.'
It was the same man who spoke the first time.
"Stop, all three of you! I'm trying to study!" Jeff snapped from the kitchen table.
There was a growl.
To her it sounded human.
As her friends' voices grew louder and louder, she could hear sirens wailing, women screaming, and an evil cackle that seemed to dominate it all.
She jumped up from her seat at the table and ran upstairs, leaving her confused friends behind.
When she got to her room she closed the door and slowly slid down to the floor where she put her head in her hands and thought about what just happened. Who were those people? And why was she hearing them?
She sat there for only a little while longer until her mind wandered into pointless thoughts and petty pondering.
She was quickly broken out of her musings when she heard a knock at the door. She stood up and answered it to see one of her best friends Lei. Her black hair was flopping over her shoulder in a bun and she was wearing a red shirt and jeans.
"It's time to go," Lei said.
"Where?" she asked, cocking her head to the side.
"School, Alyssa. You know, books and learning and that stuff."
"Oh, that's right! I forgot!"
"As always."
"Hey!" said Alyssa, playfully punching her friend in the arm.
"I was joking. Now, come on. Briar will throw a fit if you don't get down in at least five seconds."
She quickly went to check her mirror and straightened her long blonde pigtails and adjusted her purple dress before heading downstairs. On the way down, she wondered if she had gotten her brown eyes from her mom or her dad.
As she and all eleven of her best friends climbed into Mrs. Piper's van, she only briefly recalled the voices before the first day of school jitters got back to her.
Tell me what you think a review. It's old and I realize it is probably an unrealistic and very dumb story. But I hope you enjoy reading anyway. At one point in time, this was important to me.
