She used to be so full of life, emanating warmth to everyone around her. She was friendly and caring and kind. She was our friend. Her fiery red hair and passionate look could change the world. Her determination could.
When leaves have fallen
And skies turned into grey
The night keeps on closing in on the day
She's different now. She wears long medieval dresses instead of the more practical jeans and sweater. Her hair is black, almost as if it changed colour as soon as her heart got persuaded. Her eyes are a steely, icy kind of blue. It is needless to say that she no longer regards us as her friends. She is his now, and he is all she thinks about.
A nightingale sings his song of farewell
You better hide for her freezing hell
He owns her, commands her in a way that I never expected her to be commanded. She used to have such a strong will. She used to be independent, and now she takes orders from her self-proclaimed king. She is his queen. His ice queen.
On cold wings she's coming
You better keep moving
For warmth, you'll be longing
Come on just feel it
I could feel her coming before she had entered our home. I tried to warn my parents but it felt like I was frozen in my bed. All I could do was breathe and listen to the noises downstairs. The screaming. Crying. A cold laugh which I prayed would be coming from his lips. Hoped against hope, because how could I not recognize her voice? I had known her for so long.
When she embraces
Your heart turns to stone
She comes at night when you are all alone
The door opened, I could hear a soft crack as her foot stood on the doorstep. She used to know better than that. She used to sneak in to my room almost every night, and never had she set foot on that blasted doorstep. Had she forgotten or did she simply not care?
I closed my eyes, preparing myself mentally for the cold that would be coming. For death. I could hear from her breath that she was alone now, yet that did not make it any better.
And when she whispers
Your blood shall run cold
You better hide before she finds you
She slipped behind me, her cold hands pressing into my stomach. Her fingernails digging deep into my flesh. She tried to get me to bleed. I stayed silent. Her hand slipped down, a mockery of playfullness. I stirred when her hand got too close.
"Come on Ronald...you know you want this. You have always wanted it."
She chuckles.
Whenever she is raging
She takes all life away
Haven't you seen?
Haven't you seen?
The ruins of our world
Why she let me live I do not know. Perhaps it was because of the bond we once shared. We had always been close. Much closer than brother and sister. She was my confidante and I used to be hers. I feel dirty now. Betrayed. She tried to make our bond into something disgraceful. Something perverted and wrong. Perhaps she is scared that I might be the one to 'save' her. Perhaps there is still hope, though the cold bodies downstairs will certainly testify of the opposite.
She covers the earth with a breathtaking cloak
The sun awakes and melts it away
The world now opens its eyes and sees
The dawning of a new day
She used to be fire. Now she's ice. She tried to freeze me. I in turn, shall try to melt her. May the best Weasley win.
