Apocalypse, What Apocalypse?

"When it snows, she has no fear for her household..." - Proverbs 31:21

A/N: It seems it isn't a rollover after all. Set 21 December 2012.

Apocalypse

"That's great, it starts with an earthquake..." – 'It's the End of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)', R.E.M.

The speculation on the early morning news regarding the loss of contact with Australia was making Dean antsy.

A fluttering sound announced Castiel's arrival.

Dean did a double-take. "Cas, why're you soaking wet?"

"It seems Oceania is now underwater."

Dean's eyes boggled. "You said there was nothing to worry about."

"We always thought the Mayan calendar rolled over. It appears we were mistaken."

They watched the rain of fire spread from the east.

"Isn't there anything we can do?" asked Sam.

Castiel shook his head.

Dean stared at the ash falling like snow, before passing everyone a beer.

"Happy Apocalypsemas."

A/N: Castiel helps the Winchesters rediscover the meaning of Christmas. Okay, so this one's a little self-indulgent...

What Apocalypse?

"When they saw the star, they were overjoyed." - Matthew 2:10

"Apparently we're not bothering with Christmas this year," Sam said, glaring at Dean.

Castiel scowled and placed a two-fingered touch on the forehead of both brothers. Instantly they were elsewhere.

Dean gasped at the wondrous star shining in the night sky.

"Where are we? Is it the end of the world?"

"It's more a case of when. And it's a beginning, not an end."

Understanding, Sam turned glistening eyes on the rude dwellings. "I never realized it actually snowed in the Middle East."

Castiel passed the brothers a strong-smelling parcel each. "Here. It would be rude to arrive empty handed."

A/N: Yep, Castiel gets the gold for dealing with these wise guys! ;)

Happy Christmas / happy holidays!
