"You're WHAT?"
"I'm going to live with Lily. And I want to propose to her soon." James repeated.
"Okay, I have to sit down," Sirius Black plopped his gorgeous, frequently admired butt onto one of Remus's kitchen stools.
"That sounds great! But when?" Remus asked.
"Well, Lily and I are going to WWRE to sign the papers next week," James said.
"And when are you going to ask her to marry you?" Sirius said.
"Er, you know...soon," James said vaguely.
"When's soon?"
"When the big hand hits the S and the little hand hits the oon," James said. "It's a surprise, and I have a really great idea!"
"What if it's really stupid and lily thinks you're an idiot and you've botched up the proposal and you'll never forgive yourself for not just telling us and we could have saved from humiliation and you--" Sirius rambled.
"Fine! I'll tell you," James said, exasperated. "This is what I'm going to do…"
"Okay, Mr. Potter and Miss Evans: I need you to sign here, here, and here. Initial on the two red X's and date this parchment," the realtor said. "We're almost done. Miss Evans, I have one more form for you." The realtor handed Lily one last form:
"Dear Lily,
I love you. Will you marry me?
YES!
NO
Love,
James"
"Oh my Merlin! Yes!" Lily hugged James. James's smile was so huge.
Lily checked Yes on the form. James was sure that this was the best piece of parchment in the world.
