I can't believe it.

I won.

I won.

Not Drew.

Not Solidad.

Not Harley.

Me.

I won the Grand Festival.

As I gaze at the Ribbon Cup in my room (my Ribbon Cup), I think about my loyal partners.

Blaziken. My very first Pokemon. We started our journey together, both of us clueless, both of us wandering. But we grew and changed and now we're here. It seems fitting that my starter helped me win in the final round, along with my youngest Pokemon.

Glaceon. My very first egg. Only a short while ago she was still an Eevee, learning about contests from the moment she hatched. She's become elegant and poised, as every ice type should be. Without her, Blaziken would have fainted against Drew's Roselia. Still, she's as playful as always, and will give Skitty a run for her money.

Munchlax. Who knew the glutton would be suited contests? His appeal was excellent, powerful. He deserved his high mark, making sure no one would forget his Solar Beam fireworks. When I first caught him, if you told me he would pave the road to the Ribbon Cup, I'd probably think you were crazy. But here we are, standing together.

Of course, my other Pokemon supported us, along with my friends and family. But yet, I feel…empty.

I don't know why.

I do know why.

My face is on the channels. I'm being broadcast in every region. But I can't help thinking that Ash won't see.

Or worse. He won't care.

I guess I'm being paranoid. Of course he'll care, he's my best friend.

Though I wish we could be more.

Ugh! Pull yourself together, May.

Guess that's why I'm just sitting next to this phone.

Too nervous to call him, but afraid he won't call me.

Sigh. It's getting late. He'll probably call when he gets back to Pallet Town. Just because I'm home doesn't mean he is.

I turn off the lights when…

Ring! Ring! Ring!

I dash to my phone and check the caller ID.

My face brightens.

"Congrats, May! I heard you won the Grand Festival."

I smile.

"Hello to you too, Ash."
