It's actually a coincidence that I wrote this Wolfletdrabble so close to the last Flirting chapter. I just had the thought for it listening to the cicada's while biking home. They're my fav canon couple I think.
The air was heavy with the sun's heat and the cicadas were screaming their song in the tops of the trees. There was a slight breeze every now and then bringing some cool relief their slightly sweaty skin. They had laid a blanket out but Wolf could still feel the grass blades prickly his back through it. Scarlet's fingers were tracing the scars on his left arm and Wolf closed his focusing on the touch.
She ran her fingers lightly along the scars on his bicep and fore arm, a large one on the back of his hand, the creases in his palm. Then she ran her thumb over his tattoo and he flinched.
She pulled her hand away immediately and Wolf silently cursed himself for the reaction.
"I'm sorry." Scarlet said softly, "I didn't even ask if you minded."
Wolf propped himself up on an elbow so he was mirroring Scarlet. "I don't mind with the scars, they just remind me of how I was hurt, but this," he gestured to the tattoo, "reminds me of how I hurt you."
Scarlet frowned. "Oh Wolf. You did so much for me; you saved me."
"After betraying you." He said softly.
Scarlet reached over to stroke his cheek and Wolf leaned into the touch. "I know." She said. "We've talked about all this."
He nodded. They had. A lot. After the war Wolf had even insisted that Scarlet take a month away from him just to make sure she had really thought it all out. It had been the longest month of his life.
"I love you." Scarlet told him.
Wolf smiled and leaned in to kiss her. He never got tired of hearing her say it.
Scarlet put her hand in his hair as they continued kissing and Wolf shifted over so that their bodies were against each other. Wolf wrapped his arm around Scarlet's waist, sighing in contentment against her kisses, warm like sunshine. They lay next to each other and kissed awhile more before Scarlet pulled back to just stare into his eyes. Wolf smiled and stared back. Everything about Scarlet seemed perfect to him. The way her warm lips met his the way his arm fit perfectly against the curve of her waist. He wanted to hold her and kiss her forever.
Scarlet started to trace some of the scars on his arm again and then stopped, looking at him guiltily.
Wolf smiled. "I really don't mind." He said. "I never mind when you touch me Scarlet."
She grinned mischievously at that and went back to kissing him.
