A/N: I know it's short… it's just a oneshot that sort of came spilling out in the aftermath of the wonderful roomies scene in the last episode.
Spoilers: "From Here to Paternity". If you haven't seen it, you probably don't want to read this.
Disclaimer: If they were mine, this scene would have happened a long time ago.

Neela's POV
"Neela."
It wasn't a question. I paused and looked up at him. "Oh God," I thought, "he's going to…".
I didn't have time to finish before his mouth was on mine. His warm, soft lips pressed against my own and I felt my breath completely leave my body. A shiver went down my spine; I blamed it on the cool minty taste of his kiss. "Oh God," I thought again. He pulled away ever so slightly. I wish he hadn't.
I leaned in for more. I couldn't remember ever being kissed like this…it wasn't hard, or urgent, or rushed. It was so gentle, almost like he was being careful, but at the same time I could feel him everywhere. I'm glad we were sitting – I doubt I would have been able to stand. My heart pounded as he slowly deepened the kiss. My mouth fit perfectly with his.
It's not like we both hadn't seen it coming. There had been other times when I thought this might happen – nights when we stayed up drinking and talking till the wee hours, the last moments we spent together in our apartment. I was running from it then, told myself it wasn't the right time, that it would jeopardize our friendship. I had consciously restrained myself, but now…now I wonder how I could have ever been so stupid.
His fingers found their way into my hair as I reached for the side of his face. I heard myself sigh as he pulled me closer. I couldn't breathe.
Really, I needed some air. I forced myself to break from him. As I looked down I rested my forehead against his.
"Wow," he breathed.
"Yeah," was all I could manage. I leaned back a little and my eyes found his. They were sparkling, and the corners of his mouth turned upward as he let out a small chuckle. I smiled, almost in relief.
And then I tilted my chin up again, asking for more.
