Summary: Elizabeth reminds Jack of gold. 200 word drabble.
A/N "Fit of semi-precious metaphor" blatantly stolen from Benny & Joon.

"Oh, Jack! It will simply be marvelous now that you're here to help!" Elizabeth gushed, grinning broadly, her enthusiasm coaxing a matching touch to Jack's lips. "And no worries, Captain Sparrow, you'll be paid handsomely," she said in all seriousness, though there was an odd glint in her eyes that worried him a bit.

"Of course, love," he agreed with a nod, his solemn sincerity causing her to snort in very unladylike way that he chose to completely ignore.

Her hair was loose, her curls flying this way and that, never failing to remind him of tarnished gold. Yes, gold, the kind that tempted men straight down the road paved with thin excuses and good intentions.

The more he thought on it, the more agreed with his sudden fit of semi-precious metaphor.

The lovely Miss Swann was exactly like a certain eight-hundred and eighty-two pieces of Aztec gold - she was a girl best admired from afar, and never touched.

It was almost a relief that she was getting married.

Almost.

"Alright, darling," Jack sighed, resigning himself to his fate as he reached over and held up two swathes of fabric. "Which d'you like for the table-settings? Egg shell or ivory?"
