Screaming Love

Satoshi's eyes were filled with regret as he gazed at her. Why did it have to be like this? He shook his head slowly and turned away. Step by step he was walking away from Risa, leaving his only love.
To her eyes the sky darkened to a deeper pitch black and all sound washed away. Something swelled within her and the torrent of emotions threatened to take over. Her voice came out as a soft croak, "No."
Then she gasped and drew in a deep breath, "You can't leave me!" Risa screamed. She ran toward his retreating form and grabbed the front of his shirt as he spun around to face her. She raised her head to lock eyes with him.
For a second their laboring breaths and the dull roar of city life were the only sounds that reached their ears. After a few minutes both broke the intense gaze at the same time. Her eyes rested on the rough concrete and his on the starless night sky.
"Why?" Satoshi asked so quietly she wondered for a second if he had actually said anything. Louder this time he asked again, "Why?" He now looked at the top of her head, and placed a hand on the smooth brown hair.
Oblivious to the loving gesture, a fresh wave of puzzlement passed through her. She couldn't remember why she needed him. She couldn't sort through all of the emotions to find the truth. Silence enveloped them like a heavy blanket. It was almost suffocating until she let out the breath she hadn't realized she was holding in.
After a moment collected herself and with new found determination Risa delved deep within herself to find the answer. "Because-" she whispered and cleared her throat, "Because..." The answer was slipping from her grasp again and she took in a slow, steadying breath. She raised her head to look at his perfect features. Caringly she traced every line of his face, every curve. Tears came to her eyes at the new found love that washed through every fiber of her being.
"Because I love you!!" she screamed to the world. An instant later they both closed the distance between them and their lips met. They grasped at each other to deepen the kiss and both of them fervently channeled their love to the other.
They stood like that for what seemed like eternity, both loving the feel of being in the other's arms. When their lips finally broke apart Satoshi wrapped his arms around her in a loving embrace. Tears almost came to her eyes again as she buried her head in his chest. In that moment they knew that they belonged together. He kissed the top of her head and whispered words for her alone, "I love you too, Risa."
