Notes – For a prompt-fest that I recently posted. Cypsiman2" wanted Fubuki and Trucy under the prompt of "magicians". Set both a few years post-AJ and a few years post-GX.

The hat is fine, stop adjusting it, said a firm voice in Trucy's head.

She stepped away from the mirror. Really she could never recall having cared so much about her appearance in life prior to this day. Why did it all have to suddenly attack now?

But perhaps fussing about how she looked had been the one thing distracting her from the butterflies in her stomach, because now she'd stopped thinking about it she suddenly felt the urge to throw up. Pull yourself together, girl!

Magicians just weren't that famous anymore. Nobody put them on TV, at least not on any channel they expected people to watch. So when some strange dandy-looking man had come to see her performance and asked if she wanted to appear on his TV show she had to say yes. For the good of all magicians she needed to show the world that magic was fun and still worth watching.

It wasn't until afterwards that she'd found out the guy in question was Fubuki Tenjoin, presenter of 'The Bucky Show'. Apparently it was very famous in Japan these days and was just starting to make its way over to the states.

"We're on in about five minutes. Are you ready?" Fubuki called, popping his head around the door.

"Y-yes, I'm just fine," she said quickly. Great, now she was copying Apollo's lines. But at least she hadn't thrown up yet.

"You look very nervous," replied Fubuki, walking into the room, "I thought that you'd performed lots of times before."

"I have, but… never in front of a TV camera. There's going to be millions of people watching this," Trucy said.

"Most of them will be Japanese, so maybe you'll become a sensation over there," he said, encouragingly, "And besides, isn't bringing fame back to the Gramarye name what you wanted?"

"Not just for the Gramaryes, for all magician kind!" Trucy corrected.

"That's very noble of you," said Fubuki, giggling slightly.

"Do you… think it's funny?" she asked, disappointed.

"No, it's just not often that you see a young girl as enthusiastic as you are, you remind me of someone I knew once. But anyway, I want to see magic make a comeback too. Stage shows are just the best, the crowd oohing and awwing at the flashy stunts, the adrenaline, I love all that. Magic isn't something I can do, but I guess you could say that it's in my area, so I want to see people enjoying it again," Fubuki answered her.

"Okay. I-it's nice to meet someone who understands," she replied, sheepishly.

"And you shouldn't be nervous, your family are in the audience to cheer you on, aren't they?" he went on.

"They are, yeah," she agreed. They might be a bit of a weird family, but Phoenix and Apollo had made time to come to see her performance and she wouldn't change that for the world.

"Then let's get out there and show them what magic is all about," Fubuki said, correcting Trucy's top hat one final time himself before turning on his heels and marching out.

Fubuki was a funny man, she had to admit, but he was a pretty good confidence builder. He was kind of like Klavier, only with stage shows and trading card games instead of rock bands and prosecuting.

Taking a deep breath, she followed him out of the dressing-room.

The crowd were already screaming for their host to come greet them. Maybe by the end of the night they'd be cheering for her as well.

No time like the present.

Stopping herself from readjusting her hat again, Trucy stepped out onto the stage of a crowd of future magic lovers. She hoped.
