Rolling Hills
{A Different Environment}
Friday was a day filled with goodbye hugs and kisses. Amy Fleming was prepared to leave later that evening. With only three suitcases and several boxes, Amy had managed to cram every little thing she needed into the meager amount of storage.
However, without the hundreds of pictures on her walls, her coffee mug filled with colored pens, and the colorful throw blankets and pillows on her bed, Amy's room looked barren. Her closet, containing nothing but several articles of clothing Amy had grown out of, looked the same.
With a sigh, Amy lifted the suitcases off the bed one by one dragging them out to her car. Tossing them into the trunk Amy shut her eyes wanting to be anywhere but here. Goodbyes had always been hard for her, but this was an opportunity she could not pass up.
Slowly shuffling back towards the house, Amy dragged the boxes out to her car. Knowing that these would be her last few moments in a familiar environment, Amy took as much time as possible. Nerves were already starting to get the best of her and she wasn't even on the road yet.
Looking at the house on last time, Amy blindly groped for the trunk's lid. Finally shutting it, she walked towards the driver's seat, slipping into the car before she could change her mind.
Unable to hear anything but the soft purr of the engine and her pounding heart, Amy began to think. With trees on either side of her, all Amy could see was the open gate and the paved road beyond that point. With her mind wandering towards all the new things she would gain due to this departure, Amy couldn't help but smile.
This was a chance to start all over.
Author's Note: As you can tell, I am once again rewriting Rolling Hills. Since the revised plotline is much easier to work with I will update much more quickly. I'm super excited about where this is going, it is certainly a lot better than my previous ideas. Hopefully you all will agree as well!
Anyways, as you can tell this is super short, the next chapter will be much longer and a lot more exciting. If I get to editing right now the second chapter may be out sometime tonight!
