"Thank you, Uchiha-san. Thank you for helping me the other day."
It was a simple words of gratitude, given to him with so much sincerity he could've sworn he had felt his heart pounding against his rib cage erratically. The way she had held her pearly eyes against his own with such gentleness and the small smile tugging from her lips only worsened his discomfort. It felt like the time had stopped moving around them, to him specifically. His gaze lingered to her face a little longer than necessary; charcoal eyes flickered towards her slightly pinkish and plump lips, so tempting that he could see himself violating it with his own. Maybe a little taste wouldn't be such a bad idea, he thought briefly before shifting his attention back to her curious eyes.
Feeling a little embarrassed at the way he looked at her, Hinata fidgeted slightly under his scrutinizing gaze, the habit she had long overcome and forgotten after boldly confessing her love to the man she used to admire. She mentally scolded herself for showing such behavior now of all places, and to a man she just recently became acquainted to no less. A dark blush visibly covered her entire face at the lack of response from the man infront of her, her inner thoughts telling her to turn her back and flee to save herself from further embarrassment. Seeing her discomfort, twice as worse than his moments ago. Sasuke regained his composure and shoved his lustful thoughts aside, a small tint of blush dusted his own cheeks. Awkward silence enveloped their surroundings and with a clearing of his throat, he immediately look away to hide his embarrassment whilst shoving both of his hands on his pockets.
"It was… nothing." was his reluctant reply. He knew he could've answered with his usual responses but looking at her wide orbs, Sasuke couldn't help but to give in. It feels like he was being controlled, hypnotized even. And of course it would be a lie to say he hates it, it felt natural-so natural that he allowed himself to act without any types of barriers or restrictions. He doesn't understand why but he just did. It was a mystery he would later solve but as of now, he'll cherish this new fluttering sensations he had been experiencing as of late, especially when he's with her.
With his answer, Hinata couldn't help the wide smile adorning her face as she mildly shook her head at him. It may be nothing, the things he did the other day. But to her, it was already too much that she felt like thanking him wouldn't be enough. No wonder why her dear friend Naruto-kun is so fond of this man and is willing to bet his life to save him. Her expression solemn for a brief moment remembering a painful event not too long ago before shaking it off her mind as she masked it with laughter, offering him a bento box filled with her homemade cooking-a meal that she used to make at home for her sister and her cousin Neji. A small token of gratitude that she hoped he would like before bidding him goodbye, timidly placing the said box on his hand after giving her this look of confusion.
"It isn't m-much. But please, do take this." She insisted, giving him no room to respond before turning her back from him and run off as fast as she could. Blinking, Sasuke could only look at retreating form and not a moment later his eyes landed on the said box that she had placed on his hand. Although such thing had occurred numerous times from his annoying admirers, he willingly accepted it with a smirk before deciding to find a place where he could taste her food in silence. He'll help her any day if he can have her cooking as a reward and maybe the Hyuuga herself too for dessert, if luck is on his side.
Apparently, this is my first fiction here. I will try my best and do well. Please excuse my lack of knowledge when it comes to proper usage of English, I am still learning but I will really do my best to improve. Thank you very much.
