"I feel fine, I probably just ate something that didn't agree with me last night," Emma assured her father for the fourth time that morning. They were about to leave for a family brunch but David was weary to let Emma attend after becoming sick the night before.

"Well, if you're sure…" David said uneasily, resting his hand on his daughter's shoulder.

"Yeah, I'm sure, I'm-" Emma didn't get a chance to finish her sentence before rushing off to the bathroom. David started to follow her but Snow motioned for him to wait in the living room with Henry while she checked on Emma.

"Emma, honey, are you ok?" Snow asked, walking into the bathroom and kneeling behind her daughter.

"Yeah, I'll be ok. I think that was the last of it."

Snow gently rubbed Emma's back, "Well, let's get you to bed. Brunch is definitely out of the question now."

"No, you all should go. I'm sure I will feel better after a nap."

Snow helped her daughter up the stairs and into bed.

"Is there anything you want me to get you while we are out? Pepto-Bismol?"

"I think I'm good. Actually, I'm feeling a bit better already," Emma smiled weakly.

Snow paused for a moment, "What about a pregnancy test?" she asked gently.

Emma looked down and fidgeted with her blanket. It was one of those rare moments when she looked small. Just a scared little girl, afraid of disappointing her parents.

"I'll be discreet. Your father needn't know."

After a long moment Emma nodded.

"Okay," Snow said softly, rising to place a kiss on Emma's temple before walking to the door. "Just try to get some rest. We will be back soon." With that she turned off the light and left.

Snow returned a few hours later to find her daughter sitting on the living room couch with Henry's book spread across her knees.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better," Emma said, looking more afraid than anything else.

"I got your…" Snow trailed off and chose instead to wave the bag from the pharmacy for Emma to see.

"David didn't see you buy it, did he?"

"No," Snow smiled slightly, "He took Henry to the park after brunch."

"Oh good," Emma said, feigning interest in the book in front of her.

"Well, don't you want to get this over with?" Snow asked after a long pause.

"Err...yeah," Emma stood up and took the package from her mother without meeting her gaze. "Thanks." She went into the bathroom and came out a few minutes later.

"Well, what's the verdict?"

"I don't know. Could you….could you look at it for me."

Snow smiled sadly, she loved the opportunity to help, but hated seeing her daughter so frightened. "Of course."

They walked into the bathroom together and Snow took her daughters hand in her own, squeezing it encouragingly before she picked up the test. She closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them to read the result. A teary smile spread across her face. "Congratulations."

Tears began streaming down Emma's face. "What am I going to do?" she managed between sobs.

Snow enveloped her daughter in a hug. "Shhh. It's going to be alright," she soothed. "You will figure it out, but first-" she pulled away slightly to wiped the tears from her daughter's eyes, "-first you are going to tell Neal."

"How did you know it was Neal?" Emma asked, shocked.

Snow laughed, "Oh, Emma, you didn't actually think you could hide that from me, did you? Moms always know." She squeezed her daughter tightly and moved to break away only to have Emma hug her back more fiercely. She had been all alone during her first pregnancy, but now she had her mother, and she needed her more than ever.
