Punishment

Disclaimer: I, sadly, don't own LSK. Yu Wo, I seriously envy you for this.

[A/N: For some reason, I seem to love LSK teacher-student relationships. They're so funny, especially the Sun Knights'. Anyways, this idea came to me through idle musings on how hard it must've been on Laica's teacher, dealing with a terrible insulter and major masochist for a student. The poor guy must've been driven crazy, LOL.]

"Insult me," the 37th generation Metal Knight instructed his student for the hundredth time that afternoon.

"What're you staring at me like that for? Those shiny, silver eyes of yours are hardly attractive at all." Laica sneered.

"Wrong!" His teacher barked. "'Shiny, silver eyes'? Are you trying to compliment me or offend me? At least say 'slate gray eyes' or something! Do it again, properly!"

"Jeez, Teacher, you're so bossy. Like a general—a strong, bossy general…" Laica tried again.

"A general? And you call yourself the Metal Knight in Training? Why don't you just switch to the future Leaf Knight if you're going to be so nice!?" Laica's teacher was losing patience, his face starting turn red from rage. "A general is an honorable position. That's not insulting at all! If you're going to call someone bossy, call them a bossy older sibling!"

His teacher swept a pile of paperwork off his desk with an angry stroke of his arm. "Pick that up. Think of a good insult while you're at it. I swear, are you trying to drive me insane?" The first two commands were directed at Laica, the last being quietly mumbled to himself.

Laica silently did as told. Personally, he didn't see what his teacher was so riled up about. Being called bossy was offensive, wasn't it? And he even disrespectfully named his teacher's eyes as unattractive. So why wasn't it good enough…?

Laica stood, placing the collected pile back on the desk. His teacher had calmed down a fair amount by then, as he ordered, "Insult me."

"Teacher's so annoying. What are you, a little songbird chirping in my ear?"

"A songbird is a pleasant sound. Refer to me as a mosquito buzzing in your ear." His teacher reprimanded.

"Teacher's so annoying. What are you, a mosquito buzzing in my ear?"

"Snap. Sneer. Sound smugger!"

"Um,"

"You're not the Earth Knight. Don't stutter!"

"Teacher's so—"

"Add more sting to it. Seriously, the Metal Knight can insult anyone and won't get in trouble for it. That's a privilege! Use it!"

"Teacher's so annoying! Just shut up!"

"Not good enough. You sound too whiny. Try another insult."

Laica peered around the room. What was there that he could insult? "How come the sun outside is so bright!? It's so damn blinding,"

"Idiot! The Metal Knight is one of the Twelve Holy Knights of the God of Light. Even as one of the Cruel, Merciless Faction, your reputation will surely plummet if you insult your own God! Not to mention that our leader is the Sun Knight! Do you wish to be kicked out of your position!?"

"But Teacher, you just said the Metal Knight could insult anyone and get away with it,"

Laica's teacher slapped him. "Don't you try to be smart with me. Are you asking for a beating?"

Instead of wincing as expected, Laica's eyes shone. "Oh, yes please!"

Taken aback for a moment, his teacher blanked. "What did you say?"

"Yes, please."

"You… want to be beaten?"

Eyes even brighter, Laica nodded enthusiastically.

The Metal Knight threw his hands up in the air. "I give up. How did I ever choose a student like this? Not only does he give the most complimenting insults ever, but he's also an extreme masochist! Oh God of Light, please spare me!"

Laica regarded his teacher with a confused expression. Did he say something wrong…?
