It was Friday night, and Kashino returned to his dorm quite late.
"What have you been up to?" asked Chocolat suspiciously.
"Nothing," grumbled Kashino, pulling a pillow over his head. Chocolat saw he was holding a piece of paper with the title 'How To Temper Chocolate by Kashino Makoto'.
"Ah! You were helping that Ichigo, weren't you?" she exclaimed. "Wow, you're sad."
"Excuse me?" inquired Kashino, his voice rising.
"This is your way of getting close to her? Don't you have the courage to ask her on a date or something?"
"Don't you have the courage to confess to Kasshi?"
"D-Don't bring that into this! What I'm saying is, you should ask her out. Geez, you're defensive!"
After a bit of arguing, Kashino eventually agreed with Chocolat (much to her satisfaction). He tried to think about where he could take her and what they could do, but he fell asleep before he could come up with something.
Meanwhile, much the same happened between Ichigo and Vanilla.
"Come on, Ichigo! Be brave!" said Vanilla.
"Okay! I'll try!" Ichigo replied with a smile. She then went to sleep, dreaming she was a princess and a blonde prince had come to take her away riding a horse made of sweets.
The next morning, the two didn't make eye contact when they got to the lesson. They just got on with their seperate parts of the recipe, until -
"Why are you tempering chocolate? That's my job..." said Kashino suddenly. Ichigo abruptly stopped and turned to face him, eyes wide.
"O-Oh! Silly me! I guess I -"
"Anyway, you're doing it wrong."
Kashino put his hands over hers and showed her the proper way to temper. He didn't realise how close they were at the time, but Ichigo did, and she could feel a blush creeping up onto her face.
"See? That's how you..."
He trailed off when he saw Ichigo's expression. Immediately, he began to blush too. The pair looked away, Kashino scratching his neck and Ichigo pushing back a strand hair.
"Amano, would you-" Kashino began, at the exact moment Ichigo began to say "Kashino, would you-"
"Oh! You go first," said Ichigo, flustered.
"No, you," said Kashino, much the same. "You, I insist."
"Ladies first!"
"Ugh, fine..."
"I was wondering if you would...um...come? Somewhere...with me? Only if you want to, that is! If you're busy then don't worry about it!"
"I'd love...I mean, I'd like...no, I don't mind coming...I guess...but where?"
"Ah. That's the problem. I don't know..."
"Just go for a romantic walk outside or something, you don't need to go anywhere!" shouted Chocolat suddenly. Kashino knew that was code for 'I want to watch, stay here.'
"Um, okay then! See ya!" said Ichigo, and she turned round to leave. Conveniently, the bell went for the end of the lesson just then.
At lunchtime, the Sweets Spirits spotted Kashino and Ichigo holding hands.
"M...Makoto-kun..." murmered Ichigo softly, and she delicately pressed her lips onto his. He kissed her back, putting his hands round her spine.
"Aww! Kawaii!" exclaimed Caramel, hugging Vanilla.
"They suit each other," said Café, smiling at them.
"And it's all thanks to me!" said Chocolat.
