Prologue
2009, New York, United States of America
The streets of New York were dark; Rose Adamson had always been a bright student. First, she had studied informatics for just one year, after that she discovered that her true passion: nursing. Her whole life she had been a great nurse, she had never been distracted. That wasn't until Derek Shepherd appeared in her life. The man changed her world, and for just a moment she believed he was the love of her life. Yet she was never the love of his life, that place was always reserved for Doctor Meredith Grey.
There was nothing she could do; she could only walk away from him. She thought about killing Meredith, she thought about doing everything. If she killed Meredith, she would never get Derek for herself. She needed to find a way to change what had happened. She needed to return in time.
She never believed in something as stupid as time travel, today she needed it. She needed to find a way back, if only a few weeks, she needed to make sure that Derek would not find his way back to Meredith. So when she arrived in New York, she heard rumors about time travel. A lot of things had gone wrong, but they could bring you to another time.
When she heard those rumors, she visited a man who called himself the Dragon. He lived in a small part of the China town, New York.
That evening it was dark, the building was poorly lit. A part of herself thought that this time travel could not exist. She softly knocked on the door; it opened right away. The man was just as old as she expected. He looked to her, one of his eyes was glass. She walked behind him; the room was enchanted with essence. Every smell was present, and she knew for sure that it could make her sick.
"How serious are you about going back in the past?" He asked.
"Deathly serious."
