Had we have known what the chimera were truly capable of we would have fled to America out of harms way for several years to prepare more thoroughly. But we were fools, overconfident in ourselves determined that we would be able to stop them by ourselves. Needless to say we were wrong, spires rained from the sky killing hundreds of thousands while the chimera emerged from their invasion tunnels and stormed our cities, London fell within hours. We had prepared for them but within three months the war was lost and the army scattered to isolated bases all over the countryside. I was in Manchester when the chimera arrived and barely managed to escape with my life. Now I and a handful of others live in the ruins of Manchester hiding from chimeran patrols and trying to find a way out. But day by day things are getting worse. And I fear that we may never escape.

I don't dare move, if I move the odds are the hybrids just inches from me will hear. And I wouldn't stand a chance, at least it would be fast and it's better than being torn apart by leapers in any case. Still I'd much rather survive, I've not come this far just to be killed by a simple hybrid. Slowly I reached for my battered old rifle my fingers gripping it tightly, if I'm going down in taking as many six eyed freaks as I can with me. A burst of gunfire sounds in the distance causing the chimera around me to disperse into the building across the street, no doubt preparing to go and assist their dying brothers. I seize the opportunity to escape by hurling a petrol bomb into the doorway of the building they disappeared into and promptly running like hell in the other direction. I quickly realized that running straight down a street is a sure way to get myself killed so I start to dart into alleyways taking random turns to ensure I don't get found
