Fighting for him
Standing there Kahlan felt like the end was coming, Nicci wanted her dead. Although she never met the sister, by the way sister Verna reacted when she saw Nicci from across the sandy desert Kahlan did understand that nothing was going to get in the way of this woman getting what she wanted.
They were all in front of her, Cara, Zedd, Leo, and Sister Verna. Fighting for her to protect her, as if she was single handily going to end this war with the Keeper. But she was fighting for him, for Richard, she had to believe that he was going to make it out of perdition, that he could fight and win whatever war he was having with himself. But when she turned around to look at him in the not too far distants he wasn't moving. That's what scared her most of all not that the most powerful Han the world has ever seen is out to kill her it's that Richard wasn't moving, her Richard could be dead 200 feet away from her and she's trying to fight to survive? She didn't want to survive without him, the keeper could win and destroy the world but none of it mattered if Richard wasn't alive and fighting by her side.
Cara and the sister were the only ones still fighting with Kahlan in that final moment, Zedd was down hopeful still breathing, Kahlan couldn't tell from where she was standing. Leo on the other hand she knew was dead, and it he wasn't he was close to it. She felt a pang of guilt when she looked at Leo then at Cara. She was starting to care for this Mord'Sith, theses past few weeks had shown Kahlan a whole new side of Cara that she never thought this woman had. And now to see her upset over a person's death, a man's death was something new entirely.
That's when she saw something move out of the corner of her eye, it was him, he looked like he was about to pass out but at least he was alive. He had the sword of truth in his hand, but he just kept walking passed Cara and the Sister, straight to the front facing Nicci who looked as shocked as everyone else that Richard made it out of perdition. Kahlan just stared at the scene in front of her Nicci using her powers Richard thankfully blocking it and the Zedd hitting Nicci with wizard's fire, then it was over. Everything was still for a few brief moments then Kahlan started walking toward Richard, closing the gap between them her kissed her more passionately then she ever thought possible, the kiss didn't last as long as she would have like but that was alright because he held her to him as if he was holding on to life its self
"You don't know how happy I am to see you" he say with a small smile on his lips.
Kahlan doesn't say anything back but instead leans her head on his, after a long minute of looking just at the man she loves more than anything else in the world she finally looks around at the others. Verna and Zedd where both smiling at the both Richard and herself but it was Cara and Kahlan was looking for and when she laid her eyes on her, Kahlan couldn't help but have tears in her eyes.
"Cara" was all she said
