Crossing through the darkness

Into the chaos of a world that was never suppose to be there

The forgotten world splinters.

Its old design smashes in on itself with each passing moment

The dark alleys are soaked with the permanent water

From tears

And screams from the darkened sky

The world remembers when it was strong

When the lights of skyscrapers

Glowed in the pale light of the oddly shaped moon

When the streets themselves held a dangerous air within them

Sending the pitiful souls that wandered through to flee shivering

From an unknown force

But now the wreckage only whimpers

About the time that has past

As the green flames come in with a destructive force

Choking on the nothingness

And withering in the rain

The structures creak in dismay

As the light bulbs flash out

"We will never belong to you"

They whisper into the night

The voices of the world fall upon deaf ears

The once tall buildings no longer look up with pride at the castle above them

And at their creator who is now gone

Faded into emptiness

The world sinks into itself collapsing

The lonely streets become lonelier still

And the concrete jungle becomes nothing but wilderness

The power hungry looks down from her throne in contentment

As she plagues the grieving world with thorns
