Whispers in the Dark
Within the Void, within the dark,
I alone do dwell.
At best this place is purgatory,
At its worst it's Hell.
...
When the darkness comes, and come it will,
The stars will fall to night.
The galaxy will deny its fate,
Waging a doomed fight.
...
My whispers in the dark are heard,
In the void beyond the stars.
Heard by the progenitors,
To this realm they have come far.
...
My whispers in the dark are heard,
Within galactic fringe.
Heard by those known as the Firstborn,
Waging strife and sin.
...
My whispers in the dark are heard,
Within the spiral arms.
Heard by many lesser races,
Bringing themselves harm.
...
My whispers in the dark are heard,
Within galactic core.
The Swarm rises up and fights,
Their creators are no more.
...
Someday my whispers will be words,
In a galaxy gone dark.
Life remade in my own image,
To me they will all hark.
...
Until then my words continue,
As life clings to the light.
Not knowing that the tide is turning,
That they can't defy the night.
