Mysterious new neighbors
It was a cold dark day when they moved in next door. I watched the moving van creep up the driveway and stop a few feet from the house. When our new neighbors stepped out of their car I ran outside the house and stood by the door. I listened to what they were saying "mitä haluat ottaa ensin?"(What do you want to take in first?)the taller of the two questioned."ehkä ne vaasit?"(maybe the vases?). I recognized a little of what they were saying.I walked closer and stopped a few feet away from them"tarvitsetko apua purkamisessa?(do you need help unpacking?) I called out hoping i had said it in the right language. They turned to me surprise written on their faces "ymmärrätkö minuä? "(do you understand me?) the shorter of the two questioned "kyllä minä ymmärrän?"(yes i understand)I replied.He smiled "nimeni on Tino!"(my name is Tino!), "hauska tavata sinua Tino, nimeni on Eira!"(Nice to meet you Tino, My name is Eira!).
