Poem of Winter Veil (2015 revision)

.

So in the quiet I sat with my cocoa

In a room I rented for the Winter Veil day

And sipping my drink I stared out the window

Of the Lion's Pride Inn, where I often stay

Suddenly I heard a sound, which I don't know

All through the halls and down the walls it did echo

From up on the roof there arose quite a clatter

I stood to attention wondering what was the matter

And up through my window I gazed, but rather

Than a sleigh with a deer, a nose vibrant red

(Provided from the Greench Metzen had fled)

There stood a big green man with a bulbous head

He glanced down at me with a smirk on his face

His presence a threat to the human race

I pursed my lips and backed away a pace

And thought I should run, but that's a disgrace

He lifted an axe tied with a pretty red bow

Which dripped with blood and spatters of gore

Then glared at me dourly just so I'd know

He stared through my soul, straight to my core

The moment I moved I knew I'd be dead

Yet, pointing to himself and then to me, too

His booming voice said:

"Hellscream's eyes are upon you!"
