Another day, another rehearsal.
Ever since Rachel and Finn were no longer an item, and she was with Jesse, she really had no friends. Once Jesse joined New Directions all hope was lost for any future friendships, Rachel was sure.
She sat in her normal seat in the front row of the choir room not listening to Mr. Shue for the first time. Jesse had his arm draped over her shoulders and it felt nice. She really liked him, and was certain he liked her. She was sure she wasn't just some plot against the glee club. Still, it irked her how she doesn't have any friends. She never did, really, but she felt even more lonely. Rachel Berry wanted to go out to parties, make stupid decisions, drink, and just live. That just wasn't how anybody saw her. She had to keep her perfect, pristine show face on. As all the other students left the choir room, she realized how sad she was that they were leaving school to go live their lives.
"Rach? You ok?"
"huh? Oh yes. I'm fine."
"You were kind of spacing for a bit there..."
"Oh. Yeah..I just was thinking about...umm.. a new song for regional's."
"oh cool! what song? let's hear it babe!"
She turned to face Jesse and felt her heart drop.
He really didn't get it.
"I think I want to practice it alone first. I'm gonna stay here for a bit, but you can expect a text message from me later." she said as she slapped a charming smile on her face.
"Ok. I'll talk to you later then..." he said and left, a bit confused.
Rachel fell onto the piano bench and started to cry.
"I want to live and be free" she thought to herself.
She swung around to the piano and tapped the keys aimlessly. She then thought of a soft melody and went with it.
Nobody likes you,
Everyone left you.
They're all out without you,
having fun.
She lingered on the last key of the piano before dropping her finger and quietly sobbing to herself.
Authors Note: Ok! Quick little one shot. I have been listening to the new American Idiot cast recording (go and check it out) on repeat so this was bound to happen lol
