When you find that you have stumbled
God will be there to pick you up
with gentle actions that leave you humbled
and a step slow enough that you can keep up.
When the sky darkens to the black of night
and the thunder can be heard from afar
let God be your Light to guide your sight
let Him be the brightest star.
When the raindrops fall from Heaven
and they caress your tear-stained cheek
like God's gentle touch fixing the broken,
lift your hands up, Him always to seek.
When the trouble comes once more
call on His name in your time of need,
for God doesn't close one door
and not open another; His voice you must heed.
When the world pushes down on your shoulder
let Him take your burden from you today
by kneeling at His throne, His altar
and praying He will show you His Way.
When the others don't understand, don't see
past your looks or unfortunate handicaps,
forget about them; God will judge them justly -
bless them and wish them no mishaps.
When no one seems to want to pay attention
and they are all too busy with things to do
don't let the anger build, or the tension
simply walk up and ask to help, too.
When everything is going great
don't forget to thank your Maker
for keeping away your hate
and making your day brighter.
