Cedric had broken her heart in a way that was impossible to mend, Cho realised many years after his death. She'd tried to get over him. She really had.

After giving herself time to grieve, she thought she should try seeing boys again. But that's as far as she ever got.

How could she ever love another boy after him? Every time they held her hand, she's wish it were Cedric who was touching her so gently. Every time they'd kiss her, they'd remind her of him, and why the lips weren't his.

She'd sworn off boys, after that. It just hurt too much.

But, she mused as she pulled her lover's body closer to hers, revelling in the heat that was passing between them on these cold winter nights, she wasn't really breaking her promise to herself.

After all, Luna wasn't a boy. She was just different enough to not remind Cho of Cedric every time they touched.

And maybe, Cho thought, with enough time… just maybe Luna Lovegood could do what no one else had been able to. Maybe she could piece back together the fragments of Cho's heart and mend it.

Because if anyone could do the impossible, it would be her.
