Birds of a Feather
Disclaimer: I don't own this!
The winds of change blow
And still I fly with him.
On effortless winds
Do we soar above them.
Their demons of fire
And of steam turn about.
And we of the winds
Sail around mortals' doubt.
We are birds of a feather.
We sail throughout legends.
We dazzle the hearts
Of endless generations.
With his wings of passion
His feathers of gold
And mine of hemp
And dark canvas of old
We are ghosts who sail
Upon Time's endless current.
Ignorant of all
Of events in the moment.
We are birds of a feather.
We sail through the curls.
For he is my Sparrow
And I am his Pearl.
A/N: I thought that trying to do things from the perspective of the Pearl herself would be in interesting challenge. The way I see it, the Pearl was to Jack like a the swords of a master; the Pearl wasn't just an object or a means to an end for him, she was (is, according to the bit of verse above) half of his soul, soulmate, if you will. Personally, I believe that everything has some sort of consciousness (shout-out to Vathara!) is given time to develop one.
Special thanks to Vathara for the seamless blending of science and magic that allowed me to put this little ditty together, Final Fantasy writers Refugee (why he retired, I'll never know), and Yinza for bringing out my romantic side, Kingdom Hearts writer Rem-Chan for really showing me what a mega-crossover is like, and the Potterverse writers on for pumping out enough epics to get me out of my very long slump.
