Bobby woke with a stretch and yawned, as Rogue reached over and turned down the radio. They pass a worn down sign telling them the rest stop was just three miles further. When suddenly before he knew what was happening he found himself flying forward, as Rogue slammed on the brakes.

He turns to her, his face full of question, but before he can get a word in, she begins talking her face still staring out at the road, "I tried to be what I'm not. So could you please collect your things? Well I don't wanna be cold, I don't wanna be cruel. But I gotta find more then what's happening with you. And if you'd open up the door..." She turned to him, her face torn and she said. "While you where sleeping I was listening to the radio and wondering what you were dreaming, when it came to mind that I didn't care." She shook her head, to clear it from all the confusion and fear. "And I thought hell if it's over, well I better had end it quick or I'll lose my nerve. Are you listening? Can you hear me? Have you forgotten?"

Just three miles from the rest stop, and his mouth was too dry to rage. The light was shining from the radio casting an eerie green glow, but Bobby could barely see her face. But somehow she knew all the words that he never had the nerve to say. She knew the crumpled up promises he made and lay broken within him. So as he opened up the door.

She said to him, "While you were sleeping I was listening to the radio and wondering what you were dreaming. When it came to mind that I didn't care. And I thought hell if it's over I better end it quick or I'll lose my nerve."

And he reached into the trunk and pulled out his bag, her words echoing in his head. And he should feel horrible, and her words should pierce his heart.

"Can you hear me? Are you listening?"

He held his bag in his hand and watched her, still sitting in the drivers seat, her beautiful green eyes focused on something he couldn't see out in the road.

"While you were sleeping I was listening to the radio and wondering what you're dreaming. When it came to mind that I didn't care. And I thought hell if it's over I better end it quick or I'll lose all my nerve. Are you listening? Can you hear me?"

He stood outside the car, and her voice was muted, and seemed so distant and far way.

"Hell if it's over I better end it quick or I'll lose all my nerve. Are you listening? Can you hear me?"

His mind repeated her words to him over and over, even as she drove off into the night, leaving him just three miles from the rest stop.

That's pretty much it, didn't add too much to it, because I wanted to be pretty much more true to the song then anything else. Hope you enjoyed if not, well shrugs
