Disclaimer: I don't own House of Anubis.

A/N: I wanted to write Jara. This is the result. And of course, it decides to be kind of angsty.

The game begins with a picture and a kiss (or two).

He doesn't know if he's winning or losing or if there's even a point, but he shouldn't be surprised that he's deceiving himself (and her) into thinking they have a relationship; that they have an actual thing (instead of stolen-I-wish-you-were-mine looks and friendly-why-can't-this-be-more hugs).

After all, Jerome is the king of the deception and cons and pranks.

But this time, he wishes it were real (not a deception or a con or a game).

She knows it's fake, like he does (but they're still deceiving themselves). She wishes it were real, just like he does. But she's too smart to fall head over heels just like that for Jerome bloody Clarke, and there's still Mick in the picture (even if he's in Australia). Oh, she's a smart girl, but a confused one too.

And Mara doesn't want her heart broken twice.

So this time, she'll keep playing the game.

A/N: Thanks for reading! Review, please? :) I'd love to hear your thoughts.
