It wasn't really something he expected. To fall in love again after another heartbreak. It wasn't exactly the same, though. It didn't feel one-sided. He didn't feel the need to change.

Logan Echolls was in love with Peyton Sawyer. There was no sense in denying it any longer. He loved her.

It started simple enough. They met, they fucked, and they talked. Sometimes. He didn't want her to tell him her childhood stories and he didn't feel like telling his. Somehow she ended up lingering in his bed, and he let her. (The times they ended up in the bed, that is)

She told him about her absent father, and he told her about how blonde's seemed to ruin his life.

"I'm not a natural blonde," she joked.

He cracked a grin. She had that affect.

One by one her objects began to litter his penthouse. It started with an elastic pony tail holder that he used to shoot paper footballs at Dick. Then something he had no idea what it was. It looked like some sort of hair product but he left it on the counter by her pony tail holder.

It wasn't long before she left a sweat shirt, and some sort of sock.

He watched her in the mornings, rushing to get to her apartment. Go to work, and come back the next night.

One thing never failed, she always climbed on his bed to say goodbye and kissed him. There was always something different about that kiss above all others they shared.

Sure it seemed simple, but he was going to buy her a toothbrush. It wasn't like they were…steady. This wasn't high school. He didn't need to give her his class ring and her to ohh and ahh at it for twenty minutes, they were past that.

At least, he thought so.

She was in his bathroom, rushing. As usual. She pulled the bottle of mouthwash from the counter and gargled some in her mouth before spitting it in the sink. Her eyes fell on the green tooth brush lying beside the toothpaste. She pursed her lips and picked it up.

"Logan?"

"Mm?" he answered sleepily. He wasn't fully awake yet, or even close.

She walked back into his bedroom and stood beside his bed. "Whose toothbrush?"

He opened one eye and closed it again, turning his face into the pillow. "Yours."

She smiled a little bit. "Mine, huh?" she asked putting her knee into the mattress. "You bought me a toothbrush?"

He turned his head back towards her and opened one eye, again. "Don't read too much into it. Your breath stinks in the morning."

She smiled a little more. "Aw, Logan." Her mouth caught his cheek gently. "That's…"

"Don't say sweet." He warned. "Go put that to use."

She smiled a little and went back into the bathroom and shut the door.

He smiled to himself as slumber over took him once again.
