The one she should have always been together with

Love was never something she thought she could feel again. At least not after what happened with her last boyfriend. Dead boyfriend to be specific. But now she wasn't even sure if it was love she had felt in his present. Not anymore. Not after what he had done to her. To her, to her friends and to all the kids in the bus. How could she even possibly think she could love somebody like that? But this was not the person she thought he was. It couldn't be. Otherwise she would have been nearly as bad as he had been.

But now there was love in her heart. She felt love for the last person she thought she would feel after the incident in the Neptune Grand. And she would have never even thought he could feel the same. But he did. Here she was, standing next to him, her hands entangled with his in front of his friends who just accused her of being not good enough for him. She was not an 09er. She was not worthy enough. But he didn't care. He told them she was his girlfriend. And she was happy.

The first few weeks after the incident, she had been devastated. She refused to go out of bed or talk to anyone. Not until he came to visit her. She knew he didn't came, because he wanted to or because he really cared for her. Veronica probably called him and told him how she had acted the last weeks and that perhaps he could help her. So he came. He came and he stayed. He didn't push her to anything. They comforted each other. After some days of enduring silence she finally spoke with him about his brother. She cried, he cried and somehow they bonded over the person they thought they knew but didn't.

He knew she didn't want to be here. He knew she was embarrassed and wanted to be anywhere els but here. But she also knew that she had to be here. That she had to be strong. She wouldn't be the vulnerable girl anymore. She was somebody else now, he was somebody else now and he knew she needed this. She needed him and his support. So they stayed. He stayed for her. With her.

In this very moment she knew he was the one. The one she should have always been together with. The one who would always stand up for her. The one who would be in her heart until the day she died. And in whoms heart she hoped she would be as long as he was in hers. The brother of her dead ex-boyfriend, the psychotic murderer. Dick Casablancas.
