Heat

The searing sun shimmers in the sky

Its celestial rays like liquid gold,

Hungrily lapping at ebony skin

As dark clouds threaten to bring both life and death.

In his world, he is the hunter

and I his pray.

His movements animalistic, he steals forward

Stalking me.

The packed earth scorches beneath my bare feet,

I stand deathly still

paralyzed by his gaze.

His captivating eyes seem to grin

As if peering into my very essence,

Searching for a weakness.

Slowly.

Slowly he creeps, circling me.

The corner of my mouth twitches into slight grin

As he pounces.

Enveloping me in a fiercely passionate embrace.

The heat of the day mingles with the heat of our bodies.

He has subdued me, his unwary victim.

Slowly again he leans back,

tucking a stray strand of coarse hair behind an ear.

Gazing into mine, his eyes are as two black pools

Hints of sunlight glinting off them,

Causing a feeling of sheer ecstasy in me

And I am entranced.

He prepares for his final attack.

Subduing me to the point where I am weak

If he were not holding me, I would have fallen to the ground

Crumbling like a mountain coroded by years of pain

Suffering, prejudice, discrimintaion, tears.

My own eyes have been filed with a new hope.

He grins another beautifull grin and

Rushing forward , quickly closing the space between us

Our lips collide.

We are tangled in a passionate kiss

Like a thousand sweet daggers it attacks my guarded emotions

Allowing them to fly free.

Our hearts beat as one, reigning in the twilight.

We are as oshun and xango

In tune with nature yet completely cut off from the known world.

Thunder cracks in the near distance.

We break

The first drops of sweet rain reach our shining faces.

And all seems calm. He has won.

I stand before him like a newborn.

finally tamed.

Conquered by the passion of a new world.

He has ignited a flame inside me. My passion.

Tamed by heat.
