Scene 2 after we have seen Buffy fighting the demon in the cemetary...
Synopsis- The Scoobies are gathered in the school library after Buffy has been attacked by a new demon the previous night in the cemetary. Angel shows up to warn Buffy about the demon, looking worried himself.
Xander- 'The library on a Saturday.....just the same as on every other day. Hey Giles, do we get paid for coming in on the WEEKEND?' Giles- (Indignantly)'Certainly not.' Willow- 'Buffy, can you remember anything else from last night? So far, I've narrowed it down to, oh, say 200 demons or so.' (Looks appealingly to Buffy) Buffy- 'I think he had a tatoo on his arm... a bird or something. Other than that Will, not really. In the end I just had to run for it.' Giles- 'Well, thank God you're alright. But this demon sounds pretty powerful, especially since both you and Angel were fighting it.' Buffy- 'Err, well actually it was just me against the evil undead last night.' (Pauses) 'Angel didn't show.' Willow- (Immediately) 'He was probably held up Buffy. It doesn't mean anything, really.' Xander- 'Yeah, he was probably really tired, it was late... you know how cranky if those vampires....' Buffy- (Cuts in) 'It's not like he could have been really busy during the day is it?' Xander- 'Good point.' Willow- 'Ooh look, here's something. This nasty is superstrong and comes complete with tatoo. It looks like it could be a bird of prey, an eagle perhaps.' Buffy- 'Yeah, looks similar. How can I kill him?'
Angel enters looking distressed.
Angel- 'You can't.' Buffy- 'Angel?' Giles- 'Now hang on a minute before we go jumping to....' Angel- (Interrupts immediately) 'It's complicated but I know about this thing and it's not something that can be dealt with quickly.' Buffy- (Aside to Angel who looks bothered) 'Why didn't you show last night? What is it? You're not telling me everything.' Angel- 'It's nothing. Look, just promise me that you won't go patrolling tonight ok?' Giles- 'Angel's right Buffy, we don't know enough about this.... whatever it is. Listen, you look tired and you're still hurt. Maybe it would be better if you went home.' Xander- 'Yeah Buff, you go home and maybe ANGEL can go hunt tonight hmmm? All by his lonesome....?' Buffy- 'Ok you've made your point. Will you guys be alright here? I'm pretty beat. I think I'll go and get aquainted with my bed.' Angel- 'I'll walk you.' Buffy- (Quickly replying) 'No, look I'm fine, just.... I'll see you tommorrow.'
Buffy leaves with Angel staring after her. Xander looks disapprovingly at Angel.
Angel- (to Xander) 'What??' Xander- (to Angel) 'Man, is she mad with YOU.' (to Giles) 'So Giles, have we done enough of the research already? There's a band on at the bronze...' Giles- (coughs, then says sarcastically....)' Yes, you can go and leave me here to my books until 2 in the morning researching this thing...' Xander- 'Great! Come on Will, lets go.' Willow- 'But Giles... and research stuff...' Giles- 'It's alright Willow, I'll update you on Monday. Anyway, perhaps Angel wouldn't mind helping me since he knows about..... where is Angel for that matter?' Xander- 'Oh that's just typical of the man to bail....' Willow- (Sharply) 'Xander!' Xander- 'Well, it's true isn't it? I mean, he's meant to be like, 'I worship Buffy,' and then he doesn't show for their 'date' to kill the bad guys.' Giles- (Rubs his glasses with handkerchief) 'Everyone has their off days Xander. I'm sure there's a reasonable answer for his absence last night.' Xander- 'Maybe. But I trust that guy about as far as you two could throw him.' Willow and Giles- (Indignantly) 'Hey!'
