My Immortal
Ari. She said the name. The boy who she had grown up with. The one person who had turned up to her dance recitals. The one person who cared. The only one who had been there and truly understood who their father really was. The one person she did not want to loose. She wanted the guilt and the pain gone. The realist in her knew however, it wouldn't. After all, she had killed him. Killed her own half brother. Whatever reasoning she gave. In pure black and white, she had killed him.
Nearly five years on it still hurt she could recall the basement the defining shot. The silent gesture of remorse Gibbs offered her. The Hebrew prayer not for his soul but hers and their lost innocence.
When he cried she was the only one to know. It had only been twice. After learning of Tali's death, at that point, they both wailed for their lost sister they both sought vengeance. The second time had been just a few years later upon learning about his mother's death. She sat in silence her hand on his reminding him he had her and she had him. Just as when they were children and their enemies were bullies now, their enemies were many and far more dangerous.
She remembered the summer afternoons of their adolescence where they no longer wished to climb trees. They wished discuss life and literature their escape from the empty world their father had created for them. The big brother she looked up to was now what her father used against her. And forced her to remain where he wanted her. Her happy memories were now a terrible nightmare.
She woke up the dusty cell which she had woke up in at least twice all ready was revealed as she opened her eyes. She did not think. She closed her eyes hoping to wake up and it all be gone.
She opened them again. The same surroundings greeted her but so did a familiar man in black clothes and a fake British accent.
"Little sister do you know what we call this" Ari said. Ziva looked at him fear in her eyes. She tried in her mind to reason her newfound insanity. "Not talkative" Ari said, "You never were." He looked into her eyes. His evil smirk crossing his dark olive face. "Little sister this is payback" As if in a movie he disappeared.
"Little Sister we call this payback," echoed in her head.
