This'll be a couple of POV's about how people were feeling and reacted to Anna's death xx This is a bit of a mixture of the film and the book, because I was studying both this week and they've kind of tangled together in this x Please read and review to tell me what you think x

When she gets the call she thinks this is it. Kate is going to die, only this time it's more of a certainty than ever before and even Kate herself has given up the fight. Sara doesn't know how to keep on fighting without destroying what's left of her family. Anna has already been pulling away from her and she can hardly remember the last time that she was there for Jesse, though she wants to be. Her family has already been torn apart by this. Perhaps it's time to let Kate go. She already wants to.

She tries to convince herself that maybe it's time.

But when she gets to the hospital she's direct not to Kate's room but to the trauma room, where Brian is standing outside, white and pale, his eyes like they were the day that Kate was diagnosed.

This time it's not Kate.

This time it's Anna.

It's strange, because Anna was always the dependable child, not the rebel that Jesse was or prone to spontaneous sickness as Kate was. Somehow Sara had almost forgotten what it was like.

Anna has been critically injured, the look on Brian's face and the sheer number of people rushing about the room, as well as the continuous beeping of machines, tells her that. And she doesn't know that her mother loves her.

She thinks her mother still sees her as spare parts.

Sara wishes with all her heart that it's a misconception she'll be able to correct before it's too late.
