Barik yanked at his fishing pole, reeling quickly. Pulling the hook from the water, he scowled at its emptiness.
"This is utterly impossible." he grumbled, standing up to go rebait his hook. The sky blue-haired demon only rolled his eyes, rod swaying ever so slightly in the breeze. There was a brief moment of silence before a thump and curse sounded behind him. Sighing and reeling in the fish he'd hooked, Rivan headed over to the other.
"You're really clumsy, you know?" he stated, looking down at his companion.
"Shut up," Barik muttered, biting his lip and looking down at his bloody finger, trying to tug out the hook, "Ow!"
Raising a brow, the taller demon crouched down. "You got yourself pretty good... guess that counts as catching a fish." he stated, reaching over and taking the injured hand. Barik scowled deeply, but flinched as the other started wiggling the hook.
"This will hurt." came the warning before the head of the hook pierced through the skin a second time. The lieutenant general let out a small hiss of pain, looking away from his finger. There was a small crack and suddenly the hook was gone, and lips covered where the injury was, gently suckling away the dirtied blood.
Blush staining his cheeks, Barik tugged his hand back and ripped a bit of his shirt off to wrap up his finger. "Thanks." he mumbled, purposely looking off in another direction. An arm wound around his waist, pulling him back into a warm chest. "No problem." came the reply, chin resting on his shoulder. The red-eyed demon blushed darker but slowly relaxed back into the other, watching the waves break against the rocks.
And that's that! Just a fluffy little drabble between Rivan and Barik!
Inspired by my "little brother" hooking himself when we were out fishing before desert at a huge party. Only he went to the hospital to get it out...
As for what the crack was:
When someone hooks themself with a fishing hook, it's usually impossible to pull out without tearing up your skin because of the barb. So you push it through a second time, cut off the barb, and pull out the hook. Which is what Rivan did for Barik.
