Life is an uncontrollable spiral twisting in every direction. At times safe, smooth and comforting. Such as times when you fall in love, exchange kisses the moments you forget to fear the unseen and start to believe foolishly that nothing can shake the peace within. An invisible shield is held up protecting you and all around from harm reaching in. Than without the warning the spiral switches directions spinning the opposite way nearly tumbling you off balance. Like a flicker of a light it all seemingly changes. Death, loss of stability, the entire world appears to shake and tremble beneath you. In those moments you fear the darkness will always remain within you, your soul allergic to light. Mean while you pray for the spiral to swift back again.
Rose quietly closed the lid of the journal that for years she secretly witnessed her mother jot secret thoughts in. Always tried to imagine the quiet world that she protected her daughter from, perhaps stories of dates and crushes. Of all thoughts of what the pages held inside, this wasn't it. Walking from the room after returning the blue spiral book back underneath the undershirts she'd give anything to unlearn her mother's truth.
