Chapter 1
A girl wandered through a ravine. The girl stood 5'6 tall, with long shaggy brown hair, and hazel eyes. She grumbled to herself and glanced up at the sky. Dusk had started to fall across the heavens.
"Dang night." She muttered. She slipped a hand into a pack she wore on her back. (She called them 'Backpacks') Grabbing a metal hook, she flung it up. The hook caught onto a boulder. Making sure the hook was steady, the girl climbed up the wall onto the top of the cliff.
Out in the distance a mountain sat. It was split in the middle, each half leaning back. The girl crossed her legs and gazed out at the mountain. "I'm coming." She whispered. "Please be there, I'm almost there." Once upon a time, about 17 years ago, she lost her family in a pit of tar. Only her youngest brother, Guy, got out beside herself. Their parents told Guy to go to the Tomorrow. She couldn't really remember. (Who's going to remember that when your sinking to your possible death in tar?)
She sighed and watched as the land faded away into darkness. She sung herself a lullaby she heard while traveling. It went along these lines:
Sleep, baby, sleep Sleep, baby, sleep
Your father tends the sheep
Your mother shakes the dreamland tree
And from it fall sweet dreams for thee
Sleep, baby, sleep
Sleep, baby, sleep
Our cottage vale is deep
The little lamb is on the green
With snowy fleece so soft and clean
Sleep, baby, sleep
Sleep, baby, sleep
She didn't know what sheep were, or a vale. Actually she didn't get half the lullaby. She yawned and watched the stars chase each other around the sky.
"Goodnight, Stars, goodnight, Sun, Breeze, Wind, Stone, Grass. And goodnight Moon." She yawned as she closed her eyes and drifted off into the Dreamland.
