Ok my first fanfic ever please review.

Chapter 1
It was a very bright sunny morning in the Kanto region. A young trainer named Marquis couldn't wait to get his Pokemon from Prof. Oak. He was 12 years old and should've gotten one 2 years ago but he was currently occupied treating his sick cousin who he stayed with. But now was his chance to shine. He woke up alarmed the clock read 9:00 A.M. "Crap,I'm late," said Marqui s. He hopped out of his bed and got dressed. He wore a red shirt and white pants. His hair was black and was very spiky. He rushed down the stairs and out the door. "Marquis wait!" shouted Drake Marquis's Cousin. Marquis did not hear and continued his dash. He finally arrived at Prof. Oak's lab and went in. "I'm here where is my Pokemon," said Marquis. " There is but one left, this Dratini," said Professor Oak.( I hate the whole pokedex explanation so we are gonna skip it). Well Marquis set out on his journey. Dratini suddenly popped out of it's pokeball. "I see your like that Pikachu Ash had and I will respect your wishes," told Marquis. Suddenly a girl on her scooter came out of a bush and ran into Marquis. She was followed by a Charmander. "Ow," said Marquis. "Sorry I didn't mean to hit you," said the girl. She had long black hair a blue vest and black jeans. "It's ok but I see you have a Pokemon wanna battle," asked the young boy from Pallet. "Your on by the way my names Taylor," replied the girl. "Marquis," Marquis said. Dratini slithered to the field and Charmander walked. " Dratini use Aqua Tail," commanded Marquis. *Drati* said Dratini as he attacked Charmander. "What Aqua Tail oh no Charmander move," shouted Taylor. Charmander tried to move but was to slow and got hit dead in the gut. *Char Char* cried the Charmander. It then fainted. " Looks like I win but your pretty good I think so wanna travel with me I wanna be a Pokemon Master," told Marquis. "Sure it'll be a race then cause I wanna be a Pokemon Master," retorted Taylor. So the duo set off on their journey to Viridian City.
