"BOO"

It had been a great Halloween so far. Zach and Magenta had finished a fruitful night of Trick or Treating along with Ethan, who had gone home to start on his own morning stomach ache for the next day from eating too much candy. Zach had put on old clothes and, with his natural glow in the dark power, had been a "radioactive zombie" while Ethan had also worn old clothes and partially "melted" his face to be a gross "chemical zombie". Magenta had been dragged along and, with her normal black and purple clothes had been constantly mistaken for a witch or a vampire, which didn't help with her mood.

Now Zach and Magenta were in her room, where they were watching an old monster movie Zach was repeating the lines along with through mouthfuls of candy. Magenta was dozing on her bed, wondering how she had gotten talked into this nonsense.

Zach looked over at his dozing girlfriend, and wondered again how he could be so lucky to have her. How could such a beautiful and smart girl like a doofus like him?

A strange hum sounded for a moment, catching Zach's attention. He turned off the tv and listened, but didn't hear anything.

Then there was a click. It came from magenta's closet. The knob was slowly turning.

Zach didn't know what to do. He knew it wasn't Magenta's little brother Cyan playing a trick, as he was asleep in his own room. So what was going on?

Slowly the door to the closet opened, and Zach exerted what little bladder control he had left when he saw what happened next.

An enormous, shaggy head peered around the door to look into the room. Two long, wicked looking horns curved out from the head, pointing forwards like a bull. Beneath them were a pair of black eyes that glowed with red pupils in the dim light given off by Zach's glow. It had a flat pug nose and a mouth that stretched nearly from ear to ear and was filled with long fangs. As the closet door opened wider, the thing was obviously huge, bending down as it started to enter the room. One thick arm reached almost to the floor, ending in an enormous paw that could easily palm Zach's head with long fingers tipped with knife-like claws while the matching arm was pushing the door open. The thing was a weird blue-green in color, with what seemed purple spots scattered here and there.

The thing saw Zach sitting on the edge of Magenta's bed, the only thing between it and the sleeping girl.

"Boo," said the monster in a deep rumbling voice.

"KITTY!"

Zach was knocked to the floor by Magenta, who snapped awake and leaped off the bed. In one bound she collided with the monster as it opened the closet door fully, and her arms wrapped around its thick neck in a tight hug.

"Oh Kitty," said Magenta as tears of happiness started flowing, "I thought I'd never see you again."

"It's okay Boo," said the monster as he engulfed her in his great arms with tears dampening his no longer red eyes. "I'm here again."

Zach had no idea what was going on, but he was sure Magenta would tell him when she was ready. For now though, it seemed she was having a good Halloween after all.

The End
